You use your phone to scan for the menu, and go up to the bar to order. The guy said the food might take a while since there was 11 orders coming in all at once, but really, it wasn't that long at all. Mine of course was one of the last (seems to be a recurring theme with me) but the guy was really apologetic and it wasn't a big issue. The food was delicious and filling. Generous portions for good prices. Everyone loved what they got, and even though it's a really casual, pub type of place, it was all well presented and everything was clean and made for a good lunch. I'd definitely recommend coming here whether it's in summer or winter as they cater for both, and it's in a good location with reasonably good parking. Really enjoyable.

No one informed us about any policy. We paid for the bottle with 5% service charge which I do not think they deserved. For christ sake, we already had bought the bottle!! Though it's alright, we respect policy. They highlighted that they needed to keep the bottle in the establishment. We asked if we could come back and finish it. They said they would keep our bottle. We rushed back to our hotel (Marriott- 200m away for the call). When we returned at 11.58pm, they had already thrown our bottle away. Unbelievable! They were quick to receive our money but equally quick to throw our experience out the window. No doubt, we returned almost at closing times but throwing our wine before closing time - if you wanna go by the book, that is still not your closing time. When we raised our grievances to the staff, she said she told us about closing time at 12 midnight. However, we emphasised that she should have let us know about the takeaway policy and license. Had we known, we would not have ordered a bottle. She looked at us blankly and simply replied "feedback received, but we do not allow anyone in after 12, so you have to leave". Quite honestly, ChatGPT / Claude / Grok could have conveyed more empathy. I am not a VIP customer nor am I a high spender. That being said, I value places with a human connection and empathy, and would regularly visit such places with joy and happiness multiple times. This place is not one of them. For this reason, I will never visit again. If you think likewise, and value authenticity and a true Aussie welcome, you would not visit this place. This place has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating we snagged a table outside without issue. With the outside bar, we ordered and paid at the counter then endured the short wait for coffee and food. Now my latte was a bit more on the milky side, but today I was totally ok with having a milder coffee. Then brunch came. Now I was expecting greatness but was hesitant as to whether these guys and gals could deliver. But they did! I ordered the Dr Morse Benedict with bacon. I was totally not expecting the chilli, coriander and spring onion to compliment the panko-crusted eggs, roti and bacon. But holy toledos it was divine! The fresh chilli added a nice heat with each mouthful without being overwhelming, the cilantro added a nice subtle flavour without overpowering the dish. The spicy hollondaise had a lightness to it that complimented the saltiness and heaviness of the bacon. Oh and the roti. Never in my life have I enjoyed such a flaky and crisp roti and I'll never forget it. My meal was just perfection. I'm almost sure the eggs were supposed to be poached, in which case they were totally overdone but I actually preferred it more. Sadly, my partner wasn't too crazy about his poached eggs and sourdough with added heirloom tomato and bacon. The tomatoes were underseasoned and it was questionable whether he received a sourdough bread. I also got a chai latte to go which was delicious. Highly recommended, there seriously ain't nothing better than an epic brunch in the sun to fill a happy belly and put a smile on your face, and this place nails it.

Had to ask someone and make a trek up some stairs, look through some rooms and there ya go. What do ya know? We spot the same bartender. He must know the secret direct way up. What are we drinking, he asked. Vodka and gin, was our replied. And he went to work. Like a magician mixing up a potion, the bartender used his mixology masters. I got a gin fizz that bubbled up with a mix of creamy egg whites and soda water. He knew exactly what he was doing and it was a beautiful thing. Can I take the bartender home with me? So he can make me gorgeous cocktails? Or do I just move into Loch & Key where I can appreciate a pretty balcony, cozy rooms and a hidden secret. Oh, the choices. It's hidden away above another bar, full of private little cubicles to sit in and has obscure pictures and graphics on the walls. There is also an outdoor veranda area for the summer months. Alcohol is slightly on the expensive side, but you pay for the cool factor. The bar staff were also a little on the rude side I found. They sort of had that I'm cooler than you thing because I'm a bar person working in a hipster Melbourne bar. When I first came across this sort of person in my early Melbourne days, they used to really bother me, but now I just accept it's part of the territory in places like these.
