Updating my review in light of COVID --…read more The health spa is still open during COVID and is taking additional precautions to protect staff and customers. Staff and customers have to wear masks, they limit the amount of people allowed in the spa at one time, and they wipe down/clean and disinfect everything after each customer comes. I did a couples massage with my husband for 90 minutes with hot stone therapy and it was so nice. Even with wearing a mask it was still easy to relax and enjoy after all the stress 2020 has brought us all lol. Nina was my masseuse and my husband had Linda. Both ladies were very nice and attentive and did an amazing job! I told Nina I do a lot of computer work for my job, so she focused a lot on getting out the tension from my head, neck, shoulders, and lower back/sciatica/tailbone area since those are tender spots when you're working remotely from home on a computer all day Anyways, definitely would recommend to anyone looking to have a pamper/treat yourself day.

I had the 30- 60 min faux serenity now, beat you, bruise you, disconnected from you, get-you-in-and-out massage and that's all i knew. I wondered "why do people pay for this". Although, I've come to realize not all massage is bliss (b/c goshdarn it, kneading tensed toxic muscles can be quite painful), the way the masseuse applies that pain transforms the experience. It is clear that Sandra is not thinking of what she's gonna have for lunch, bills she needs to pay, or anything other than being in that room with you connecting with your body to relieve your discomfort. And she does it in a non-creepy nonverbally way (i can't deal w/ small-talk during a massage nor feeling like the massage means much to the person giving it than to me). The end result: you come out reformed; experiencing how your body once felt long ago all the time....to stand straight and relaxed w/o difficulty...even tired and a bit woozy from the experience. the downside: she's super popular so if you want her, get your appt scheduled well in advance. if you are an SU student, let her know b/c she gives discounts!

The massage was 'okay'. It felt like someone just rubbing oil on you. The pressure was kind of weak. I felt awkward bringing it up more than once. After we redeemed our gift card, there was an issue with gratuity. When we were gifted this a few years back, our friends mentioned they had added 20% tip. I believe the price of the massage went up, which makes sense. However, the front desk person made it seem like prices haven't changed and it was odd that the tip was so little. It would have been nice if they were just honest with why the top was much less now, which is probably because the price of the massage went up. I would probably check out another place.

I looked up hair salons on google and was drawn to De Rouge Salon. Daniel is the owner and has been cutting hair for 25 years. He is professional and very knowledgeable. He really took his time helping me decide on a style. I have very fine hair. He asked me questions and we looked at pictures. He was very precise in cutting my hair. Paid attention to every detail. I was thrilled with the result! He works alone, so it is very peaceful and relaxing. He made me very happy!
