If you need a recommendation in Cedar Falls reach out. The reason builders use the is the are fast and I presume inexpensive compared to others. In general they do rough in quickly, and finished things off actually relatively well in the end. The issues are in the background. These are my issues over all. I will be up front that some of these things are allowed per code, but just because code allows them doesn't mean it's the right way to do it: My family had a plumbing, HVAC, and electrical business for years so I know what the right way is to do things. 1. Backstabbed all 14 gauge receptacles and switches. This is allowed per code, but is a very poor practice in general. I had to troubleshoot some switches that weren't working and also was installing some smart switches and had several where the wires had come out of the switch. 2. I found multiple ground wires that were poorly wrapped around ground screws and came out. 3. They had to move a wire that was stubbed out in the wall and nicked the insulation while doing so, if you can't trust and electrician to move a wire who can you trust? 4. They ran 14 gauge wire on most receptacles where they could, again allowed per code and lower cost, but not the best way to do things. They also tied a bunch of receptacle and light circuits together which is not a good practice. If you use certain receptacles you will see the lights dim. 5. They completely messed up with our over the sink light, had no plan, and ultimately didn't install a light. For the most part I think is because they didn't know what to do. 6. In our basement they messed up the recessed light trims, they were all supposed to match, guaranteed by our builder and they did not. 7. Miscommunication on what was needed for smoke/CO in the basement lead to a box not being installed, could have been prevented up front. There were other things also, but in general the ones above were the main problems. Other items I'm also taking care of however. At this point we are still pending resolution on items above, but most likely I'm going to be taking care of open issues myself at this point. I would not recommend using them for any projects.

These guys wired my garage very quickly and charged a fair price. Will definitely use in the future.read more
