The manager Bruno is fantastic, he always has a smile on his face. The food is really good and there's always something healthy on the menu, I frequently order one of the huge salads and there are plenty of beverage choices both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. You can lock up your valuables and find a spot either in the shade on the main deck or on the sunfilled roof deck where you get the best views. If the lake is 20 grade and up you can jump via a ladder that goes directly into the deep part of the lake without treading on muck and rocks. In the evening you can watch the fish swim in the enclosed pool, lite up below with colored lights and relax at the bar. On occation, there is live music which makes the space even more magical.

When you start riding it's anything but…read more Yes, you can brake the entire 2,9 km (1.8 miles); however, it will be boring and your entire family and all of your friends will be stuck behind you and call you a dud. I rode quite aggressively and the ride down was wild. I learned to break (because of the signs) before the curve and once in the curve let go and really get off on the G forces. On straightaways I let loose and allowed gravity to make it a wild ride. For adults the panoramic chairlift up as well as the total thrill down was well worth the 11 Euros. The line was long but I avoided it by going for a walk in the Black Forest (with unbelievably beautiful views at over 3,000 feet) and had a drink in the restaurant while watching the parasailers take off and glide over the mountain. I took my time and enjoyed as much as I could which made me literally the last sledge down the mountain for the day. In the end it's as exhilarating as you want to make it because you are in total control of the speed.

We hopped in the gondola for our first step to the summit. The gondola ride was quite fun. There are stunning views as long as it's not foggy. Then you get up to the Pilatus fun zone area where we got to see the horn players, the zipline, play structure and did the toboggan. After that, we took the larger Gondola to the top of the mountain where we had some hot chocolate and hiked up to the summit view point. It was foggy but you're basically at the top of the world so once the fog breaks the views are STUNNING. We then grabbed the train that goes straight down... like it's kind of scary at first but then you get to see some really cool views on the way down. The station at the bottom had a couple of restaurants where we had a lovely lunch prior to grabbing the ferry back to Lucerne. Such a fun day!
