Wow, this was the worst prime rib I have ever had anywhere. It was completely inedible. I ordered…read moreit medium rare and received something that was well done. The meat was rubbery and had absolutely no flavor. I took one bite and had to spit it out because I was genuinely afraid I might choke on it. When I told our waitress about it, she simply shrugged and said that no one else complains. However, if you read the reviews (which I should have done beforehand), there are plenty of complaints specifically about their prime rib. What a waste of a steak! And there was no refund because I had already taken a bite. So, I paid a lot of money to eat a dinner roll and salad from the salad bar. The rest of the food my family ordered was just OK--more along the lines of Perkins-type food quality. We definitely won't be back.

Anyway, we weren't here to eat the charm. This place (or its former incarnation) is in a book I like to take on road trips called Eat Your Way Across the USA. We knew we were going to be driving through Shoshoni so we knew we would be stopping in for some world famous milkshakes. There are somewhere around 59 flavors you can choose from here and you can combine two flavors to make some interesting combinations. I had a banana and hazelnut combo which was pretty good. The shakes here are super thick. They don't even give you a straw, but they do give you a spoon. Be prepared to wait for your order here. There was a line out the door when we were here.

It is little gems like this that make a road trip memorable.

The perfect breakfast, coffee and sweets spot!…read more After a big lunch today I was driving around with the family as looking for something sweet. Finally we spotted "Gourmet Cupcakes" on the window and were immediately drawn in to Sweet Surprises. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming with a long display counter filled with different treats.
