Bought a new battery for my canon camera. The guy said it was an off brand, Pro Master. Charged the battery for 5-6 hours. Put new battery in my camera and was only half charged. Battery only lasted about 30 minutes. Charged battery again last night, no change. Will not charge fully. Sadly I had read this to be an issue from this shop but I was desperate for a battery. Save your money. read more

I went in for a passport photo, they charged me $22, which I thought was ridiculous. Then the guy wouldn't allow me to use the stapler so that I could go straight to the post office and send my passport application. Who doesn't let a customer use their stapler? He told me it wasn't heavy duty enough to get through a photo, I'm calling bullshit on that. The bank next-door allowed me to use their stapler. It's a shame we don't have a local camera shop with acceptable customer service. read more

Way overpriced and service was not that nice. They do have a good selection if you need something, but most things seemed a little over priced. If your in a bind for photo equipment in Jackson this is your only choice. They also do photo printing and framing. read more

Wanted to stop in to pick up a ND filter for my camera. I was there for about three minutes and the guy behind the counter was unnecessarily rude to two other customers. One purchased a battery the day before that would not charge. He told her all sales were final and she could not return it. He was the biggest jerk someone could hire. Surely he was not the owner. I decided to not buy the filter and wait until later. Go somewhere else. It's not worth it. read more

Needed a filter, some film and a few other camera supplies. They had exactly what I needed and the prices were good for the only camera shop in a small town. It was incredibly difficult to find a pair of double A batteries. After striking out at three or four stores (and these are stores that SELL BATTERIES) we were finally directed to this camera shoppe just off the square. They had double a batteries and lots of camera stuff. read more

Busy little camera shop. I lost my lens cap on my DSLR camera while on vacation. Went to this camera shop and the clerk was very helpful and I was able to get a lens cap for both sizes of lenses that I had, as well as lens cap cords so I don't lose them again! The prices were average and service and selection was good. read more

Clearly willing to take advantage of people's trusting nature. Purchased binoculars from this business only to subsequently learn after returning home that the model had been discontinued 8 years prior and at the time of being discontinued was already selling at 50% of RRP. I of course paid full freight. Shame on you DD. "Trust- hard to earn and easy to lose" unless of course you have new people willing to give you the benefit of the doubt each new day. Does not accept camera returns. Was not told this when I purchased(I probably would not have purchased if I had known this). I would purchase somewhere else in case you are not satisfied with your purchase. Also, when purchasing a camera such as the G7X ii, be sure to thoroughly compare to your smartphone. My iPhone X takes just as good of photos as this $700 camera. Hence why I would like to return after having the camera for a week. Very unhappy. Isaac who helped me was very good but they did not say no returns. I think this should be said up front as every retailer I know of accepts returns. read more

Sold my camera on consignment here. It has been over 40 days since they sold it and they have not given me the money. I was going to purchase a camera there with the money I received. The camera I was going to buy was $479 in this shop. During my wait for my money, I have since found the same camera for $349. I live locally, this is a small town, and my friends told me I should sell my camera online and get a new one online as well. I always try to shop locally, but maybe they were right. read more

The store was more comprehensive than I'd expected. The owner was helpful and spent a lot of time helping me solve a problem with my images (dust on sensor). He seemed to be very knowledgeable. Bought some things I'd needed for my 40D as I appreciated the private store owner attention to service as opposed to big box or on line. You get what you pay for! I have been in Jackson Hole the past week and though I brought most of my camera gear there were some things that I either do not have or did not bring. I was thrilled to discover DD Camera Corral. From an OpTech wrap for my Canon Powershot G1x to a Canon 70-200 f4L (I needed something that was lighter and smaller than my 2.8 which I left home) to a circular polarizer filter for my 24-105 to a Think Tank holster/Lowepro chest strap setup that allows me to carry my 5DM3 at my chest with either the 24-105 or the 70-200 f4. Service was great. I had not been able to spend much time with my G1x and was struggling with the flexible focus control and they showed me how to use it. They gave me tips on where to shoot in the Teton area. They exchanged at camera case that had not worked out. While I was in their store (multiple times) I saw them help numerous people with an extremely wide range of needs. From people buying their first SLR to people who needed a media card but didn't know if they needed a CF card or an SD card. But the ultimate was when someone came in who had dropped her camera with a Canon 24-105 lens on it. The filter had broken and jammed onto the lens. One of the guys at DD Camera Corral was able to pull the filter off/apart with pliers. The lens was still able to take a new filter. No charge. Most stores would have had the person send it in for repair. DD Camera Corral is not a big box store like Best Buy or Mike's or Wolf. It is a family owned, small business whose business is very seasonal. Don't expect to get B&H or Adorama prices as those stores do huge volume. BUT, I have never found a better camera store in any town this size. If you are on vacation and therefore need it now this is the place to go. There really is no better option within 100 miles. (BTW, I am new to using yelp so I don't know how it works but it looks like Thomas T. has used yelp to ask a question and in the process didn't provide a rating which defaults to 1 thus lowering the overall average score for DD Camera Corral. That is not very useful to people looking to Yelp for help. Can someone delete that? read more

I stopped in this shop when I was visiting Jackson to buy some neutral density filters and a step down ring for my polarizer filter. J.P. helped me out and I received great customer service and awesome advice on where to shoot to get beautiful pics of the Tetons. Both of the guys working there were awesome and they shared some of their pics and locations of the local area. It was fun to talk to them and I am super happy about the whole experience.
