First of all, this used to be my favorite Vitamin Shoppe store to get my supplements. After today,…read morethat's no longer the case. I can no longer subject myself to the treatment I've received at this store, as of late. The last straw was when I ordered some items online using a promo code that was advertised in the app. I received a notification that all of my items were ready for pickup and I proceeded to the store to retrieve them. Upon arriving at the store, I was told that one of the items were unavailable, due to a specific flavor being sold out, but there were other flavors available to exchange for it. I was totally fine with that so I found the replacement flavor and walked it to the counter. While in the store talking to the original associate, another associate walked in and settled himself in behind the counter. I mentioned to that associate that I had a conversation with the first associate about exchanging the unavailable item for the one I brought to the counter. He told me that I would have to pay full price for this item and that it couldn't be swapped out for inventory reasons. I understood that but that's not what the original associate mentioned in our previous conversation. I asked the original associate for clarity on what he mentioned to me and that's when the associate behind the counter begins to say that I'm being rude and confrontational. Never have I ever gotten out of line with anyone at that store! In fact, I used to talk at length to the previous employees. All I was trying to do was get the item for the same price I was quoted when I bought the item online but I was called rude for that. Being in a customer service job most certainly can be frustrating but if a customer is seeking to understand, you provide that clarity in a respectful way. This could have all been avoided with them just swapping out the product for the same price I paid for it originally. Instead, the situation escalated to an unnecessary point and the attitude on this guy was unacceptable. I'll be shopping on Amazon from here on out. The prices are better anyway!

This place was so weird…read more The guy at the register seemed like, hungover or something, and it just... took him a while... I hope he wasn't having a mini stroke. The item I purchased rang up at a higher price than what it said on the shelf. Never a good sign. Everything was really expensive, except for a few things on sale - like, I managed to find a single-serve yogurt on sale for $2.50 instead of $4.59. They have some bulk herbs and teas, but the selection is very, very limited. They have a couple water dispensers in back which is nice, but there's no price listed anywhere. I really want this kind of place to survive..... but it's just so pricey; and then the service wasn't great either.

What's your inside the store has a pretty cool layout they got some cool this kind of items on sale near the check out. This place has a great variety of snacks munchies they even have non-alcoholic beer and it even have THC fuse drinks a lot of stuff I've seen before at other health foods but some I've never seen before as well they even have a Fair selection of wine. Staff here was overall helpful and friendly. Store was very clean and I did like the layout it also wasn't too busy at all but the aisles can't be a big claustrophobic. Overall solid recommend for a healthy store

Was in the hood for other business, came looking for some high grade Pu-ehr tea, which I walked out with (smells a little like dirt, earthy big flavor, high in caffeine, great for your health). But wait, what's this, some super delicious crystallized ginger to put on vegan soups I make (but I'm not vegan). And then some huge grain, white sea salt with a fabulous, mild taste. What a great find, because salt is an essential and can be the star of a meal when used properly. Service was first-rate. I was waited on by three different people in the space of about 10 minutes and each had their own expertise to offer, seemed, and appeared to really know their business. So in short, if you're looking for all kinds of spices, teas, herbs, oils and other things I probably missed that you'd expect, they likely have it, and I'm keen to explore more of their offerings in the future. Dedicated parking lot shared by a couple of other businesses, right off the corner of where Main Street turns West to head towards Westport. Great spot, glad I found it.

Health food stores are apparently very limited in the Kansas City area for some reason. This store was great because I had many options I've ever seen before at a health food store. Prices here are a little high compared to what I'm used to seeing but when there's a special on a certain item that's over in Clearance, it's truly at a great price. Please check that the item matches up with the price when you check out because I had a minor issue the prices being charged at the original price but not at the this kind of price upon checking out. Thankfully the staff was able to rectify that situation. Staff here was also truly friendly as well. I do enjoy that there's not too many people here as well. The strip mall has plenty of parking so there should never be an issue when it comes to finding a spot. Even cooler is that there's a vegan restaurant across the street and they sell some of their food here at the health food store it's inside one of the fridges by the checkout. So for those health conscious people you do not have to make two trips. The parking lot when you leave can be a bit challenging to leave. Overall I really did enjoy this health food store and would definitely come back. 4.5 Stars

Not a place for a CostCo type of run, but more for niche local items. My favorite and my frequent purchase here? Their coffee. More specifically, their Oddly Correct and Thou Mayest beans. It's nice to splurge on the good stuff every so often, and also nice to gift these beans to coffee lovers around the holidays. From what I can tell on a recent visit, they've scrapped their bulk buy items which is honestly a good call. I had freshness issues with both their oats and popcorn in the past. Lots of parking but also a part what my family calls the intersection of death. Home to totaled cars and fender benders over the decades, traverse this intersection at your own peril!

In my opinion, this temporary location is even better than the original as it's very easy to access and right along the Trolley Trail. You'll find a lot of summer staples here, mostly veggies when we went like: tomatoes, garlic, sprouts, garlic, honey, jams, and green beans. A lot of the vendors have the same things, which is fair because it's what grows in season. All of it is a little pricey, but supports local farmers which is worth it. In normal times, I prefer the OP market because that market has SO many things, including food trucks, coffee, breads, meat, etc. This one is much more sparse, and when my hangry toddler needed food we had to convince her of the deliciousness of broccoli sprouts (kinda worked, by the way). I've seen some select weekends jogging by that there are acai bowls and other goodies, but we missed out on our latest visit. Either way, a nice little market to visit on Saturdays in Brookside!
