We bought through a KGB deal and even with the discount I feel ripped off. This is not, repeat, NOT a spa . This is a lady's house in the country which had a ramshackled, dingy, cluttered, chintzy appearance. It's almost as though since she has a hot tub someone had said to her she could open her house as a spa .. And that is what happened :-/ Do not expect a high standard spa with modern, clean facilities, expect circa 1970s tat and staff who come across as very inexperienced. Where to start- the 'reception' is a pine cladded room with some dusty gym equipment and needs a huge refurb and scrub. Our friend arrived early and was told to 'go away' they weren't ready and was still vacuuming in her dressing gown . She was actually asked to leave the car park! Add to that
the very young staff floating in and out who don't come across very experience or confident in themselves it was not a good start. We were ushered into drab changing rooms, no lockers, one toilet, with see through curtains for optimum privacy. The outdoors wascluttered with dodgy tacky stone furniture and deck chairs (not a lounger in sight!) and dirty hot tubs To which the owners dog barked at us throughout! Lunch was £9!!!! And described as bistro food, which was basically a frozen chicken KFC style chicken piece with some limp iceburg lettuce, green tomato and no dressing, gourmet chips (haha) straight from the freezer. We were rushed with our menu choice and told where to sit ,you four, Sit here which was communal dining with everyone else all at one table :-( We did however all had a giggle with the other guests about the faulty towers effect here but the owner has a demeanour so unapproachable we felt best to just get on with it! Treatments were no better than anything you would do to yourself at home, the add ons were ridiculous, what a ripp off! The couch I was asked to lay on had smelly towels and was damp from the last treatment, and there was no way I'd use their shower. Upon using the foot shiatsu massage chair I was asked to get out as some other ladies had complained they wanted it and they took preference :-/
Customer service was lacking, felt school-like as we were referred to as you four throughout. Maybe a course in hospitality for all would improve this . About 30 minutes before the end the staff started packing up and we were checking out 15 mins before the end. The staff actually left before we did! Maybe they were more desperate to leave than we were?! Please don't waste your money, I'm being brutally honest what a farce! read more
