I mean this owner, an African native, needs to polish up on her business and people skills. I wish I could turn back the hands of time and avoid her business all together. But if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to warn you about her scam-artist ways. I sat down for an demo make up session before buying the make up. I liked it and ended up purchasing it because the color matched my skintone well. I vowed to tone my application of it down as I wanted to avoid that 'Zombie' look that the workers walked around with. They applied too much and it made them appear like the 'walking dead'. I left. Two hours later I broke out! My face started to develop tiny bumps all over my face and began to itch. I called back to the store and told an employee this. The owner said no return on the used product. I hadn't opened it, it was still new in the box and saleable. She agreed to meet me but told me that she only had a few minutes as she had to be in a meeting. On the receipt it said I had to return it within 10 days, and I did. I returned the 'unopened' and unused foundation make-up that totaled $67.17. Ms. Osseyi, the women who owned the business accepted it but said there are no refunds but said I could get 'in kind' services or products she sold' up to the cost of the products I paid. This was perfectly acceptable to me and if I want something that cost more I would gladly pay. I felt rushed she wasn't friendly and I felt like my presence irritated her. Up until then I'd only gotten my eyebrows done in this shop. I didn't know of any other services nor other products she sold. No list of services was posted anywhere. (In hindsight: This is a warning sign. When businesses that serves the public for services and they don't list their services or items--do NOT buy from them . They want to keep you off kilter and take away your power as a consumer.) So rather than looking at each product or inquiring about all of what they have to offer right then, I asked for a price list to take with me. They didn't have one nor anything posted where we can take our time to learn of. When I explained that I am a conscientious shopper and I'd like to know what I'm getting. She got offended and become unfriendly. I explained that if I'm getting services I want to know what she offered. Still no. One worker pointed to what appeared to be a list that I couldn't take with me. I wanted to take a picture but he blocked it. I told her If I didn't know what they offered how can I arrange for a service to redeem my credit? She said, "Just ask" and that she had to go. So she goes and I stay to examine her products and ask an employee what this is and what does it do? She calls back to the booth and I guess the workers tell her that I'm still there looking at things and reading labels. She comes back to the booth and now she is short with me and saying I am disturbing her workers. I explain again that she's isn't being reasonable. She's got my money and so I'd like to be aware of what is available to me. By now he is hostile. I told her if I can get the name of some of the products I can look them up online I can do my 'due diligence' and educate myself about them. She told her employees that she is the only one that can help me. Do not give me any products nor services unless she is there. That she is the only one who can issue me a 'credit' for my money. I got a couple of the products name and left. Meaning I can only inquire when the she (owner is there). I tried over 10 times to go there, each time the owner was not there. I called her 14 different times, and left several messages, still no call back or answer. A few of those times, an employee called her on the phone while I was there. I was going to get a couple of scrub washes. Apparently the employee was told no--only she can be there to give me the products. And she would not come in. She was never there. When I would go to the booth, the staff member told me that she comes in late when the mall is getting ready to close. I would go there at closing time and Ms. Osseyi wouldn't come in. I don't live in the area so traveling there is out of the way. I try and support Black owned businesses but she was really destroying that kind of loyalty in me. She never showed up nor called (even after giving my number each time I phoned). She was never available, never in. It became quite obvious that she was determined to NOT show up NOR issue a refund. This African woman got away with my $67. Dollars of mine. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. She is shady, unprofessional and has an attitude. She professes to be a Christian but acts other wise. You will come up with the short end of the stick." I was going to just leave it alone. But now the whole bad business deal leaves me feeling shorted.
