Once I went to a real functional medicine Dr they discovered what the cause of all of my health issues was in one visit. I really enjoyed seeing Dr Singh, unfortunately she prescribed me a new medication at every visit. Prozac, Wellbutrin, adderall, Xanax, etc. A functional medicine Dr does not polydrug their patient to mask their symptoms. Then came my 4 year long journey of withdrawal due to Dr Singh abruptly taking me off all the antidepressants she had me on. She has done this to 2 other people that I know personally, and they have suffered equally as much as me as a result. When I realized that I was in withdrawal, her only response to me was "want me to send you another prescription for Prozac?" I stayed off all the meds and finally made out of the withdrawal hell, battled severe withdrawal symptoms including depression, suicidal ideation, panic attacks and horrific akathisia just to share a few and I now feel strong and amazing and I am returning to warn others and perhaps educate the Dr herself of the damages that overprescribing can cause. I think Dr Singh has good intentions and I really loved the aspire health model. I suffered so much from the effects of her negligence that I would feel terrible not speaking out.

Dr. Steele has treated me very successfully (in the past) for a number of minor ailments from…read moremuscle pulls/ and strains to migraines and I have always appreciated his thoughtful diagnosis and thorough and considered approach to treating my various health issues. About a year ago, I developed a nasty skin condition that left my skin extremely dry, very inflamed (red) and swollen, flaky and extremely itchy. There were days when I thought I would go out of my mind with the burning, itching, flaking and subsequent peeling of my skin (like a bad sunburn). Also, it was both very painful (the burning) and unsightly. Initially, I sought treatment with my dermatologist and underwent extensive (and unpleasant) skin testing before being referred on to another skin specialist where I underwent more testing and received a more definitive diagnosis (Dyshidrotic eczema and urticaria) for which there is no "cure", only managment of the symptoms. I should add that these outbreaks are mostly confined to my face and more specifically my eyelids and areas closest to the eyes (brows and cheekbones). Unfortunately the skin specialist told me that the ONLY relief I could expect from the chronic itching would be a combination of high doses of oral antihistamines, steroid creams and the latest immunosupresant creams (like Elidel). Since one cannot use steroid creams on the eyes, I was compelled to try the immunosuppressant cream, Elidel. Aside from having some very serious side-effects (negative) that troubled me, I was not able to tolerate the Elidel (it actually seemed to make my burning, itching and swelling MUCH worse). I was miserable and DESPERATE for some relief so I went to see Dr. Steele as he had always helped me in the past. After an examination and treatment with acupuncture, Dr. Steele prepared an herbal ointment for me that I can SAFELY apply to the rash on my face (and anywhere else it pops up)!! This balm instantly soothes the burning and itching, reduces the puffy, swollen, irritated (red) appearance of my skin and re-hydrates it so my skin isn't constantly flaking and peeling like a bad sunburn. I've been using the herbal salve that Dr. Steele created for my condition for just over four months and I am very pleased to report that I am virtually symptom-free. My eyes look "normal" again, and my skin is soft and smooth. I no longer have to suffer physically with the constant burning and itching, or from the embarrassment of my appearance. I am very grateful to Dr. Steele for his excellent care and I would highly recommend him. He is a caring, compassionate doctor.
