I've only been here a handful of times but it's truly lovely. Big clean studio, small cubbies at the front for your personal items and reformers are set up staggered so you won't knock into your neighbor. Staff is very welcoming. I always feel great after this workout and am sore in the best way the next day. Since I don't come often I'm generally the person watching the instructor/others and I've always found it pretty easy to follow along. I haven't been corrected much but the instructors do a lot of demos so that's helpful. I'm not a Pilates pro so I don't know all the differences in classes, reformers and props but this class is always fun and feels like it goes by insanely quickly. If my budget someday agrees, I would definitely come more. Either way, highly recommend. read more

This style of Pilates just may not be for me. If you want a combination of haphazard Pilates, jump board, and barre this will be great for you. They weren't super friendly and did the minimum. Nobody asked about injuries, but they did check in after class so that's better than most studios I guess? The bar is low. class was fine if you don't have any disabilities like I do. It's more of an aerobics take on it and not so much a core tightening precise class. They do jump board and releve (or however you spell it) while standing in 1 class. I can't avoid the jump board, which sucks for me. I take Pilates because I had several damaging surgeries to my feet which make standing and rising on the balls of my feet really painful and mostly impossible. Jump board causes nerve pain that lasts for days. I guess I was just expecting Pilates with footwork on the foot bar, not a class that was super triggering to my surgery sites. That's on me, it does say it on their website they use jump board, but I think I assumed that there would be less jump board and ball of the foot standing stuff than there was and / or modifications. I can hang for one class and do things that I'm not supposed to do, but I shouldn't do this again. I am absolutely going to be in pain for days after this class l. it's such a large part of the class that asking for a modification seems pointless to me. I also have to say the air-conditioning in this place is nonexistent and it is freaking awful to take Pilates in 80° heat. It's almost 90 outside and the fans they have do not work well enough. At least three times I was afraid that I was going to slide and fall off of the reformer because I was sweating so much in the heat. I wasn't engaging properly because of that and nearly torqued my back. Having the instructor on loudspeaker... I get why they do this, but you still can't hear them. Between the over modulated loudspeaker and the music it was really hard to follow the class on top of it all. It really sucks to go to a class and find that it's not designed in a way that your body can do it. I'm so tired of all the unique takes on Pilates and the auto pilot way they impersonally cycle people in and out. read more

The Class: Our instructor, Michelle, totally rocks!!! She has super high energy. Her instruction is so clear. She will come to you if you need help on the pose. She understands everyone has different health condition and she let you go with your own pace. This is my first time taking pilates class... UNBELIEVABLE! I am not an active person. So this type of class is perfect for me. No jumping, No kicking, etc. Using the machine to work on all the muscle. YES, I can still feel the burn! The machine is using the spring resistance so I can adjust it however it fits my strength. WundaBar is one of my favorite workouts! Their machine, the WundaFormer is one of a kind because Amy - the owner, created it herself. It's a combination of the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Ballet Bar and Jump Board. It doesn't look like a challenging class, but I promise you will be shaking and sweating by the end of the 45 min. class. If you are not, then you're not moving slow enough. The workout concentrates on all the tiny muscles and the slower you go, the harder they have to work! Some of my fav instructors - Amy, of course! huh. what a confusing class. it felt like i spent most of the time looking around trying to figure out what the moves were than actually doing the exercises, and based on both the women next to me also doing the same, i have a feeling i wasn't the only confused one. instructor was very nice but didn't correct form much at all (i was expecting form corrections from reading other reviews but didn't witness it during my class) it felt like the class was more centered on just any type of movement as opposed to targeted or specific movements. some exercises we spent more time on one side than the other and it felt like maybe the instructor had a quota of how many movements or exercises were supposed to fit in a class. its a very fast paced class with little attention paid to form. ultimately- i feel like i got a "workout" but i don't really know if it was a great one. left feeling confused and don't think i'll be returning here but appreciate how nice the instructor was. read more

Just started going to this studio and I have to say that I absolutely love it!! Whether you are a Pilates pro or new to Pilates this place is made for everyone. They have small classes so that each person can get the attention they need during the class. I've taken classes with a few different instructors now and each of them are so encouraging, friendly, and not to mention in great shape themselves! Worst pilates studio I've ever been to. Poor instruction and poor customer service all around. Do yourself, and your body, a favor and do not take classes at this studio. There are many many other places to do pilates that work in cardio in the area. It's very likely you'll sustain an injury at this studio due to lack of instruction and correction. I asked for a refund for my remaining classes two weeks ago and have yet to even receive a response to my email. If you've heard that Pilates is intense, I'm here to tell you that it's true! (in a good way, though). This was my first time trying Pilates so I didn't know what to expect. I've attended 3 of Sorel's Wednesday evening classes so far & I love it! She's so patient and attentive and really makes you feel @ ease during the class. I didn't have the right form during some of the reps but she made sure to come over and show me how to correct my posture. Pros: - It's a small class (only 10 reformers) so you'll get more of the instructor's attention - I've found that street parking (metered) is pretty easy to find in the evening. - the studio is clean and the reformers are pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. - Sorel is awesome Cons: - it's a bit pricey (unless you luck out with a groupon deal for a limited # of classes), but that just comes with the territory. - the class moves at a pretty fast pace so it may be a little intimidating at first. If you're new, I suggest getting there 10-15 mins early so you can watch the prior class wrap-up & then get the lowdown on the reformer from the instructor before class starts Tips: - I suggest taking non-slip socks with you (which you can snag online). Wunda sells them but they're probably not cheap. - the restroom is located @ the back of the studio (take the hallway). - pay attention to the instructions for all of the props and components of the reformer so you won't fall behind in class - take a bottle of water with you! I am no athlete. I have not had steady regularly scheduled exercise since middle school. But because of Wundabar, I've kept active at least 4 times a week (usually more like 6 times) for almost 4 months! Unemployed and bored in January, I stepped foot into Amy's Toolbox class (free because it was my first class) on a Wednesday afternoon and I haven't looked back since! - WUNDAFORMERS - Not-your-average reformer! These look like Chinese Torture Devices, but are like regular reformers you'll see other places with the Wunda chair added on to the back. - No Clock on the wall! Sounds funny, but it's a plus for me because I tended to watch it like a hawk at other studios. This way I'm focused on me, and my positions and not how long I've been in class. - Toe sox for sale if you want 'em. - Easy mindbody signup for classes, also available as an APP for iOS. Non-judgemental, nurturing, positive instructors. I LOVE LOVE Michelle, Amy, Patrick! But have also had Beth, Dana, Leeann and love them too! Each instructor is positive, challenging, while also being individual to themselves. Amy and her team made an effort to learn my name and the names of other students too. To me, this made a HUGE difference. Now with a half-marathon coming up, Wundabar has become my cross-training when I'm not running. I really believe I've kept a relatively injury free training because of Wundabar's strengthening workouts. All body-types, levels, ages and genders can feel comfortable here. No one is judged or looked down on for their form. Instructors are constantly explaining how to make each position a little harder or a little easier so you can customize your workout. PRICING - Keep in mind private studio pilates will cost money. Wundabar is well-priced for what they do at just under $20 per class of up to 10 students. - Taking advantage of specials (like the $99 first month for 12 classes, $199 for 15 classes for May, Client Days, Auto-Pay Memberships) will get you more bang for your buck. PARKING - Street parking on Ventura has meters. Free if you go to an early AM class before the meters start at 8am! - Parking around the corner on Rhodes is available (within certain time restrictions). - There's also parking (most times, with less restrctions) on Laurel Terrace. Clean, sleek and modern studio with a little bit of a different take on Pilates reformer. The instructors have always been knowledgable and helpful. I realize that this is subjective, but my biggest complaint for this studio is that they do a lot of jump board and I'm not a fan. I also wish they had more versatility to their classes, as in specific classes for intermediate/advanced or abs or booty-centric classes. All classes are only 45min which is definitely on the shorter side more Pilates classes. Nice people, good teacher, okay machines....but dont expect to get a great body just from going here. I have tried all the spots on Ventura Blvd (pilates plus, I heart fitness, pop physique, core power yoga, pilateology...........) and this is by far the easiest. It was fun in the sense that I enjoyed being there with my friend but I didnt leave feeling like I just worked out. I love this facility, the bathroom has a hook for a lock and from the outside it looks unlocked, SO IF THE DOOR ISN'T OPEN, someone is inside. First time, I came, not knowing this, I made the mistake of trying to push the door open hardcore because I had to pee so bad. It looked unlocked but the person inside didn't let me know that there was someone inside. Stoopid! Anyways, I have enjoyed taking classes with Renee, it's doable yet challenging, she leaves your legs feeling like wet noodles, you'll be walking shaky back to your car. Renee is very great with orientating you with the machine, how to breathe, she knows what she's doing and how to work you. She explains what part of your body is being exercised and she is not afraid to touch you to reposition your body to correct your form. You can tell that Renee loves what she does. I am not a morning person but I didn't want to miss a day of working out and scheduled myself to do an early class, but forgot and missed. IF YOU MISS A CLASS and/or don't CANCEL 24 hours AHEAD, they WILL CHARGE you $25, even if you bought your class from Groupon, Living Social, Amazon Local. So be careful. They had my card on file because I bought socks for better grip when doing certain exercises on the machine. I forgot socks so I purchased a pair from them and I should've known that the socks would've been almost $20 bucks. SO BUY YOUR SOCKS BEFOREHAND, I bought toe socks with grip on Ebay for like $2 bucks. Parking sucks, so don't park too far away cuz you might be too shaky to walk. I took 10 classes here because of groupon and I was so sad when it ran out. If I had more money to burn I would definitely continue coming here. I've never done pilates before so I don't know how they compare to other places, but I thought this studio was great. The teachers are all good (especially Patrick!) and the classes were always challenging. The machine is easy to use, although I felt like it was built for someone taller than me (I'm 5'3") which made me struggle with getting in the right position for some of the exercises. I definitely noticed an improvement in my fitness and body tone. I really liked being able to book my classes online but they tend to fill up quick so I found myself having to book them weeks in advance, which was a little annoying. I liked the small class size (a max of 10 students) which enabled everyone in class to get proper attention. Parking can get tricky but if you come to the early morning or later evening classes you don't have to pay for the meters. I hope I can make it back here soon! read more

I love going here! I found this through Groupon and have fell in love with pilates since. I am absolutely sad that my Groupon has ended but I definitely plan on being a regular here. Every instructor is incredibly motivating and supportive! I loved classes with Patrick. He was always on point to fix forms and was the only instructor I've noticed who looks in to details in people's poses. It's the best feeling in the world when you know that where you're going really cares about the learning process! These classes are definitely not easy so be prepared to sweat! The personalized attention, the motivation and support from the instructor (specifically speaking to Patrick!) is a complete win for me. I can see myself continuously working out here. What amazing pilates classes!!! If only the reservation system was less complicated. You sign up online for each class that only holds up to 10 people. The pilates classes very by instructor but all leave you sore (which will lead to toned). I can't put into words how much I am enjoying my classes here. All of the instructors have been great! My only complaint is, the groupon deal has made it very difficult to get classes you want. All daytime classes are always booked, but there is usually one or two classes available in the evenings. read more

I absolutely love Wundabar... and this is coming from someone who hates to exercise and isn't particularly good at it either. At Wundabar I feel like I am getting an intense workout and actually enjoying it for the first time in my life! I even got my sister to become a regular with me. :) The prices of class can be a little pricy... but with random promotions and/or Wundabar's auto-pay options the prices for classes can end up being much more reasonable. And besides... it is worth every penny!! I usually take Patrick's class because he is amazing!! (Although every teacher/instructor I've ever had at Wundabar has been truly wonderful.) Patrick, however, is exactly what every exercise instructor should be like... because he managed to make a believer out of me... and I usually prefer a good nap on the sofa to anything physically challenging. First and foremost... He is great at what he does. His classes can be intense! When he says your muscles should be "talking"... mine are usually screaming! And when he says "your thighs might be feeling a bit spicy"... mine have usually exploded into flames. But despite the intensity... Patrick also makes the atmosphere of class fun, friendly, and not at all judgmental. Even though I am clearly the worst in class and usually need to take a nice little breather during certain exercises, Patrick never makes me feel like I am doing poorly or embarrassing myself. I used to hate to work out in any kind of public manner because I would feel ashamed of how unfit I was, but I never feel that way in Patrick's class.... and that has helped me to push myself further and keep coming back for more. I cannot thank Patrick and Wundabar enough for helping me find a way to work out and enjoy it!! I highly recommend Wundabar! read more

I LOVE wundabar. I've never taken a pilates class elsewhere and I've heard that wundabar is maybe a little more intense than traditional pilates classes so know that when you read this. Wundabar is one of my favorite workouts especially when I don't want something too intense. I also spin and do hot yoga and I go here when I want more of a strengthening, bogy weight workout without the intense sweat. It's my slow day workout. It is intense, my legs often shake through many of the positions but I find that it's not as repetitive as a yoga class so once you feel like you are ready to give up, it's on to the next thing. I've loved all the teachers here. There was only one that I felt I barely got a workout from, one time, but I think it was a fluke because I've felt so great every other time I've attended class here or at their los feliz location. Sorel is one of my favorites and I've taken her class multiple times and I don't know how she comes up with a new workout overtime but that's exactly what it feels like! This location is right on the quieter side of ventura and you can park in the neighborhood behind ventura for free (2 hours) The los feliz location is great too, with views of the hollywood sign and a parking lot! Definitely a cozier spot, a little smaller than studio city, but still so inviting. I love going there on rainy days:) read more

I've been going to WundaBar for the last month or so now, and I am IN LOVE!!! The instructors are amazing and so so so friendly (shout out to Sorel, Hedy, and the legend herself, Amy) I try to go at least 3 times a week and I truly look forward to it each and every week. At first, it seems a little intimidating, especially if you've never used a reformer before, but it's actually really easy once you get the hang of it! The routines are super challenging, which I love. I'm still having to take multiple breaks during the class, especially when doing planks, but I can definitely already tell I am getting stronger and the moves are certainly getting easier for me, even if only by a little bit. My favorite thing I've noticed is how much more flexible I've become! I've always had extremely tight hips, and I have seen amazing improvements with them since attending these classes. So I'm loving seeing those kinds of improvements, on top already noticing that my waist is a bit slimmer and I'm looking leaner all over! I'm so glad I discovered this studio, I'm definitely hooked! read more

I just took my 2nd class at Wundabar and I'm hooked. My cuzn and I are newbies to pilates machines. At first, we were thinking 45 mins? most yoga classes can even be 1.5 hrs. Well, 45 mins most def works every muscle :) I am now trying to schedule as much classes and enjoy every minute of the workout. I totally feel the soreness in my core and glutes. Thanks wundabar! Parking might be tough in this location when I took the 7ish pm class. Be careful of the resident permit only spots. Tip - better reserve your spot in the class asap because it gets booked up fast and with only 10 spots a session. Email is the best way to communicate with wundabar and they are very responsive. Facility is clean. It's great that we each have to clean up our own equipment after each session. read more

This is a great Pilates/Reformer studio if you really want technique and knowledgeable instructors. Every teacher though is very different, some more fast paced than others. I love a hard, but well taught class, and Patrick delivers every time. Can not say enough great things about this place. The quality of a business starts from the top down. Amy, the owner is amazing and teaches some of the classes.
