He listened to me and then did exactly what I wanted and even offered a few suggestions. I have a longer beard and everyone wants to cut it shorter than I want. But, Blare trimmed only enough off of the length to even it up. I am bald and he did a great fade/taper on the sides. I am definitely a return customer. This review is long overdue, as I started going to Wun Two shortly after it opened. To make a long story short, my previous barber moved away after 8 years of cutting my hair. After searching Google multiple times and experiencing a few so-so haircuts close to my home at that time, I decided to commute a little further and check out Jake Kost based on the numerous positive reviews about his work. I can confidently say that after a year and a half of repeated visits, this is THE place to get your haircut in Portland. The majority of my cuts have been done by Jake. Every time I sit in his chair, I receive an extremely efficient and meticulous cut. Although my hairstyle is relatively straightforward, Wun Two's Instagram page showcases their ability to handle a variety of work with high quality. Moreover, the conversation here is always great, with plenty of jokes and engaging discussions about life. The hospitality is also on point, offering a drink of your choice and playing good music to set a comfortable atmosphere. What sets Jake apart is the remarkable degree of self-awareness he maintains with both his clients and employees. I feel this level of self-awareness extends into his team as well. Even when I've gotten haircuts on a whim from several other employees here due to being caught up with work or life, I've never walked away feeling dissatisfied with my time or uncomfortable with my hair. Dion is another talented member of the Wun Two team whom I highly recommend for a haircut. Beyond the exceptional service provided to clients, I have also witnessed Jake making sure his employees are well taken care of, offering advice and support both within and beyond the job. It's evident that he prioritizes the well-being of his team, and that sense of care reflects in the overall positive atmosphere of the salon. In conclusion, Wun Two is the place to go for top-notch haircuts in Portland. I've been going to Jake for about a year or so now. Followed him through a couple places until he got his own spot. Never been disappointed with a cut. Mostly get the same kind of haircut each time but any time I throw a curveball his way, he's always got a great suggestion to make the look work. Location he's at now works perfect during the pandemic and keeps the place clean and works well with having to wear a face mask and all that. Conversations are great to pass the time. I'm usually a quiet guy but Jake is a funny dude and makes the time go by fast while still being efficient. Highly recommend! read more

Jake delivered. Great fades but also great at scissor cutting too. The stand out thing however is how punctual and professional Jake is.
