not as good as the civic hall but is very welcoming and always full. very busy place to see bands or comedians.

A nice small venue.Great to see up and coming bands for a little intimate gig. Central in town so easy to get to.

Well, it isn't - the local councillor is Labour and the MP is Tory. My suspicion is that the Liberal club owes its swankiness to a nearby supermarket that begins with "T". The place has balconies for heaven's sake! It is a big modern building on Upper High Street, with plenty of meeting and function rooms. There are two bars and they also serve food during the day (they once boasted of poaching the chef from a renowned local greasy spoon cafe). Despite being a modern club, they have not neglected the obligatory glitter ball and sparkly streamer curtains. They have a packed programme of events and entertainment throughout the year. It is members only, but I don't expect they'd be overly harsh when admitting new members.

Went in here today to meet my old man for a quick beer before visiting home. Its ok, suited for…read moreolder people and family for a few quite pints. Big screen comes down when theres a match on and you'll find all the locals supporting their favorite teams. The club is brand new due to Tesco ripping down the old one, not for any reason i don't think. Theres always events and activities going on and a lot are free to take part on. All the locals are friendly and the beer is cheap. Also the restaurant event rooms can be rented out upstairs and the food is great.
