There is plenty of outdoor seating for the warm days and it's beautiful old building looking on to the main square. The inside is beautifully done up and as it was raining we ended up inside. It's an old fachwerkhaus that has been carefully restored and decorated with a few small rooms with tables. The ambience is romantic and gorgeous. I would give this place 5 stars for ambience and service. The menu is Mediterranean with classic Italian dishes and choices of pastas, starters, salads and fish and meat options. The beef they serve here is Australian Black Angus cuts and whilst I love the thought of that, environmentally not the best option. I did however order a rib eye steak ;-)) the steak was cooked well and the aides were also nice. Overall I would give the food 3.5 stars. The crema Catalana I had for dessert was swimming in the catamalised sugar syrup and sickly sweet but did not go with the strawberry / balsamico salad and pistachio eis. The bread here was lovely and all in an quite an ok meal. I will definitely be back here again and try other things. I was led into a charming dining room on the arms of three strong gentlemen, and Peter had us seated at the very front table to avoid more stumbling around. The decor, the lighting, the comfortable seating - this is one of the coziest restaurants ever. The service was beyond compare as was the fantastic food. There is an entire menu page devoted to different schnitzels! My husband and I each chose one and had to share because they were both so delicious. The salad must have been picked moments before presentation with a homemade vinaigrette, the spaetzel melted in your mouth and the Apfelwein, a mellow honey gold, was the best I've had in years. The Apfelstrudel dessert topped off a wonderful evening. Do yourself a favor ... eat here.
