However, in the name of yelping and helping to promote local, independent businesses I ventured into the unknown world of Signs and Graphics. My apparent mission task was to enquire about Sign design, prices and time constraints for my boss a small, local (ish) business owner. This was fairly easy to chat about as I just delved into my past slightly when this was something which I may have indeed been in charge of. Seemingly, I successfully pulled it off and ended up having a good quarter of an hour chat with the very friendly and pleasant owner. He really did take the time to chat about specifics and provide suggestions about what might work best. He was also very honest about costs, time requirements and the difficulty involved in various techniques. Especially, considering it was very apparent that I knew nothing about signs, graphics or that much about marketing a business. So much so, that I felt rather guilty about being on a fake mission. Hopefully, his time spent on my won't have been wasted. Hopefully, some business owners will come across this and decide to pop in and see what's on offer. Come on guys...

I'm very much an email-communication person and these guys are great at getting quotes back quickly and their prices are very reasonable. I tend to pick up in person and pay when I'm there (by card) but I believe they can also arrange courier delivery. I've never had an issue with their results - they're consistently perfect, and everyone is really friendly. They recently rebranded from being printing.com and I believe they're doing more design work these days, but hopefully they keep up their great printing standards.

Aptly right next door to 'Doorworld' and very aptly named 'Sign Centre' is....drum roll - a sign…read moreshop. Well, shop might not be the best term. It's shop like in appearance and size (think a big shop) but has masses of stock, products and designs available. Furthermore, the staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely seem interested in their customers. I don't have much experience of purchasing signs, however, when I popped in for a look about I did overhear a customer/staff conversation in full swing. It was very reassuring and impressive. From what I could gather, anything a sign commissioner desired could be pulled, tugged and glued together by this lot. The prices seemed reasonable, although I wouldn't really know if they weren't too be honest. Additionally, I get the impression that the initial price tag you see can be drastically different from the end price tag due to alterations and the like. But, if you should ever need a sign or are looking for somewhere to hide out of the rain for a little bit, this seems like a rather good option.
