Dr. MacDonald is an amazing provider. I'm so sad the Roseville office closed and she moved an hour…read moreaway. She was very kind and helpful in my trying to conceive journey a few years back. She was open to giving me options we could try in office before looking into fertility clinics. When I subsequently got pregnant and had my baby she was the physician in the hospital checking on me after birth to discharge. She was the one who showed me how to get up and down safely out of my bed with my c section pain (it was busy and my nurses hadn't had time). I wish she had done my c section as I had a different doctor who was on call, but was so thankful for her help in the aftermath. I would recommend her to all my friends and family. She seems like she loves what she does and really wants to help her patients.

First of all, I want to give some back story. I have been in the emergency medical field for 12…read moreyear. In my the 12 year I have seen the good, the bad and the horrific. I have seen excellent bedside manner and really bad bedside manner. The importance of good bedside manner cannot be understated when dealing with a patient no matter how routine or traumatic. Competence is another area in the medical field that is obviously of high importance. We have all seen it somewhere in our lives. You can generally tell rather quickly when someone is incompetent at the task at hand. Two weeks ago my wife and I went in for a 6 week ultra sound to confirm pregnancy and the location. All was well and it was progressing normally. We saw one of Dr Celestines traveling doctors who is no longer there. At the recommendation of that doctor we then came in for an 8 week ultra sound. At this appointment we saw Dr. Vassall. Dr. Vassall is a traveling doctor practicing at Dr Celestines office. At this appointment we never saw Dr Celestine, only Dr. Vassall. Today we went in for the 8 week ultra sound. Based on Vassalls bedside manner from the moment he walked in I knew it wasn't going to go well. During the ultra sound (trans-vaginal) he was whipping the probe around back and forth, which was very painful and uncomfortable for my wife. She expressed this to him several times and he did nothing different. He didn't acknowledge her discomfort in any way. As he was doing this he was trying to figure out how to use the ultra sound machine, it was if he had never seen one before. It was as if I gave my grandpa smart phone for the first time and he was trying to figure out how to use it. He was literarily fumbling around with so bad the medical assistant stepped in 3 different times telling him how to use it. His inability to work the machine screamed incompetence. He was so unfamiliar with it, it was the most unprofessional performance by a so called medical professional I have ever seen. Trust me I have seen a lot. Then he proceeded to tell us in a round about we that she had a miscarriage, never directly saying that to us. Then he went into a middle school equivalent description on how people get pregnant and what the process is. It was as if he was talking to a 10 year old about the physiologic changes that occur. It may seem like I am joking, but I can assure you, I am not. Obviously it is sad that we had a miscarriage, miscarriages are quite common. But what made all this a thousand times worse was Dr. Vassall. His bedside manner, communication, and technical ability to work the ultra sound machine was absolutely horrendous. It has been nearly 8 hours now and my wife is still in pain from the ultrasound. If you go to this office DO NOT see Dr Vassall. I do not know how Dr. Celestine is. Good luck and beware. You have been warned.
