I made short films, sketch comedy, a weekly tv and radio show, and filmed the third season of my green screen web series and if I weren't moving, I would continue to work with the great people there on countless more projects. W-CAX is Vermont's own channel 3. CBS affiliate. It is too…read morebad that ALL of VT can tune in to get the local weather and news. My parents live in Central VT and they can not receive the analog signal from their house. The same thing when I lived in St Johnsbury. Weak signal. Maybe when things go digital it will be stronger. Not all VT's can afford cable or have access. Signal is broadcast from the top of Mt Mansfield, VT's tallest mountain. CAX has great Vermont news. The primary focus is on Essex Country and the greater Burlington area, however much focus on VT politics in Montpelier is also covered. Jack LaDuke ( and his dog Noel) report from upstate NH. Darrin Peron reports from the NEK. Sharon Meyer reports on the weather. Marselis Parsons anchors the news desk and has for over 25 years. Sera Congi used to share this job however sadly moved on to Boston's WBZ Channel 4. They do not use her much and she does not get that much air time there. COME BACK TO VT SERA, WE MISS YOU! CAX has some cool programs such as "Across the Fence" which airs daily at 12:30 after the noon news. It is a farm / agriculture based program as well as "You can Quote Me' which is VT politics. CAX is good local news without all the flashy media hype that one gets from the city stations. Good solid reporting minus the asides, slants, and scare tactics.

VPT stands out from other local Public Television stations…read more It offers a huge and vast variety of shows, both local pertaining to Vermont and New England as well as the popular classics, such as British Comedy, Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, and The American Experience. VPT spotlights Vermont politics,nature as well as Vermont's local northern flavor. VPT can be seen all over VT and NH as well as up in Quebec. I wish my local cable company offered it as I find the Boston PBS affiliates are not as local focused and creative.

Giving this one star only because we have to have a rating but this network deserves NO stars…read more They have "staff members" i.e.director of programing, director of membership, director of film selection, president of the network asking for contributions to the station every five minutes. In some of their spiels they talk about how "expensive" programming is yet all they show are the same programs over and over again. There are practically NO NEW SHOWS. So basically your donations are going to maintaining a staff who ask for donations, what a scam. How many times are you going to watch a cooking show where the chef just eats dishes in front of your eyes and rarely cooks--huh???????? And then this eating business is rerun again and again. You used to have rather amazing Masterpiece series--wonderful British comedies--not this time--months of seeing: As Time Goes Bye--much as we love Dame Judi Dench--it has been months of this!!!! By contrast NH PBS has some wonderful programming: an educational program on dinosaur tracks, some other archeological expedition programs, the new Midsummer Madness series and they do not have a staff begging for funds but rather the traditional telethon and the auction.Their approach it is just a bit more palatable. So very disappointed in VTPBS!!!!
