VPT stands out from other local Public Television stations…read more It offers a huge and vast variety of shows, both local pertaining to Vermont and New England as well as the popular classics, such as British Comedy, Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, and The American Experience. VPT spotlights Vermont politics, nature as well as Vermont's local northern flavor. VPT can be seen all over VT and NH as well as up in Quebec. I wish my local cable company offered it as I find the Boston PBS affiliates are not as local focused and creative.

Giving this one star only because we have to have a rating but this network deserves NO stars…read more They have "staff members" i.e.director of programing, director of membership, director of film selection, president of the network asking for contributions to the station every five minutes. In some of their spiels they talk about how "expensive" programming is yet all they show are the same programs over and over again. There are practically NO NEW SHOWS. So basically your donations are going to maintaining a staff who ask for donations, what a scam. How many times are you going to watch a cooking show where the chef just eats dishes in front of your eyes and rarely cooks--huh???????? And then this eating business is rerun again and again. You used to have rather amazing Masterpiece series--wonderful British comedies--not this time--months of seeing: As Time Goes Bye--much as we love Dame Judi Dench--it has been months of this!!!! By contrast NH PBS has some wonderful programming: an educational program on dinosaur tracks, some other archeological expedition programs, the new Midsummer Madness series and they do not have a staff begging for funds but rather the traditional telethon and the auction.Their approach it is just a bit more palatable. So very disappointed in VTPBS!!!!

This morning's stories were about climate change and the war in Ukraine followed by Fresh Air. Interesting news and because it's not funding season, very few interruptions or commercials. And then a bit of classical music which was a nice break. If WRVT broadcasts any locally generated material, I don't know. [Review 18477 overall - 76 in Vermont - 1999 of 2022.]

If you have read any of my previous posts you know that I am a customer service queen and Pop Color hits the customer service nail on the head. Print houses can be intimidating to a new designer and on top of that, I'm a self-taught one. Printing quality projects presents a whole other level of education and knowledge, Francine at Pop Color helped me right along. Her patience and willingness to show me how to set things up properly and understand a bit more about printing really had a positive impact on my experience and my design knowledge. I felt welcomed and appreciated. The print projects I have had printed here have been high quality, I have yet to have a better experience in the greater Burlington area.

I also appreciate the Personals section, because the community's love of the "I Spy" classifieds has not yet been overtaken by craigslist's "Missed Connections" and because once in college, they awarded me "Personal of the Week" for an ad that read something like, "Secret society seeks like-minded individuals for subversion, oppression and romantic walks along the beach. The station replays popular songs to death but even they seem to joke about it. The only thing I miss is every Friday Mike (who Jamie replaced) would play the "Good Day" song. It totally made my Friday that much more awesome and memorable. I looked forward to it each week. I'll admit, though, I only listen in the morning. The evening DJ's can be crass and rude.
