This morning's radio landed on WRVT 88.7, which is the local channel in Rutland for Vermont Public Radio. The tower and community is in Rutland but the studio is in Colchester. This morning's stories were about climate change and the war in Ukraine followed by Fresh Air. Interesting news and because it's not funding season, very few interruptions or commercials. I am concerned that you are not doing the commentaries in the mornings., they are interesting and varied and good food for thought to begin the day. It is good to have local input from from local thinkers. I * )especially like Cindy Bittinger's stories of important women who have influenced our life in this state and country. I am a long time sustaining member of VPR and have listened to it from its earliest days but I am disappointed in some of the ways it has changed recently. Vermont Public Radio is cool and diverse as Vermont itself. The diversity of the programming and music makes it well rounded. It does have the normal "NPR" programs such as "Fresh Air, Car Talk, All Things Considered". The local VT political scene is alive here and the call -in shows are filled with that long distilled VT flavor. My favorite part of VRP is the "Eye on the Sky" weather program which happens throughout the day. The Eye on the Sky is reported from the Fairbank's museum in St Johnsbury and has in depth details on the forecast for all of VT, Southern Quebec including Montreal, and Northern NH. VPR has improved so much over the years. The signal now is all over VT and reaches the most rural and remote places.
