After multiple attempts via snail mail donation to have the spelling of my name corrected (with negative results) - I emailed and requested the correction- and rather than correct my spelling - I was told she would just remove me from their mailing list. WOW. I regularly give to DAV, Tunnels to Towers and Wounded Warriors. I am retired law enforcement and my father was a Veteran- I was floored to receive such a flippant response from the donor care team person with the initials " S.S." It's such a disappointment that this great organization would employ a person of such low caliber to "represent" them as she appears to not give a care about being understanding or respectful to donors which I believe is a reflection on how little she truly cares about the Wounded Warrior mission. I guess clearing out the mountain of donor messages as quickly as possible with the least amount of effort is important to this horrid excuse for a "donor care" team member. They harass people with their constant, unrequested mailings. They ignore the request to stop their mailings to incorrect and unknown people. I have returned several of their mailings requesting discontinuance but have been ignored. They don't help our homeless vets. where's the money going? read more

Transparency, they have none when it comes to being selected for funded events. For example I have tried several times since 2019 to get selected to participate in a solider ride event. I am told every time it is first come first serve and that you can do an event only every two years. I follow many people I have meet through WWP and seen them get selected year after year. They hand select people and do not publish lists for alumni to see where they stand. read more

Brandy did an excellent job with taking my donations. She is honest, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, helpful, trust worthy, professional, compassionate and made sure everything lined up and waited on the phone till I got the emails so I knew it went through. After I hung-up I realized I wanted to change some of my donations and I got to help from Laura who was wonderful too. I made the mistake of hanging up too early and never got any email confirmations of my changes. read more

I absolutely enjoy the events that WWP offer but I am not a fan of driving late at night or the excessive distance to attend them. Kansas state capital is in Topeka yet we have so many events in Manhattan Kansas. I hope to see more events spread out across Kansas and meet many more amazing fellow veterans. read more

I think it's sad that the average worker for wounded warriors is making something around 95,000 and up to 140,000. Now that's the average worker. Now that's a lot of cheddar for people who are missing arms legs or face and these people are getting paid that well. It just sits really wrong with me. I'm not saying that they don't help people, but do they really need to make that much money to help these people. And when you watch some of the commercials it's sad when you see that they're forced to say that they would do it all over again. Which I believe a gentleman named Alan said that. He was one of the first to get hurt after 9/11. Or the one with the blonde wife who gets paid a hell of a paycheck to take care of her husband and you could tell it's forced when he salutes, and you could just tell that this stuff is forced on them to say those things. But I am glad that there is a place that helps these people out. read more

Extremely let down by the WWP staff's effort to follow up on a request I made for information regarding mental health resources. The day I completed registration I received two calls from numbers marked as "spam" but after listening to the voicemails and calling back (within 3 minutes) I only ever reached their VMs. The same thing happened the next day, I received a call at an unspecified time from a spam number. It also only rang once so it seemed like someone was just checking the box that they called. The emails I received from these reps never indicated when I would receive calls and I work in a profession that doesn't allow cell phones in the office due to gov regulations. The only option I was given for an actual appointment to talk with someone was weeks out. Overall this experience solidified what a lot of others are saying, it seems like a scam. They go through the motions but don't actually care. read more

The Wounded Warrior Project has afforded our family amazing opportunities for fun, growth, self-development, and interaction within the military, Veteran & Family Readiness communities. We have been gifted with fun opportunities such as concert tickets, sporting event tickets, cooking classes and craft events. Self-development and growth opportunities such as weight loss challenges, yoga, individual or couples "Odyssey" experiences (we just attended a Couples Odyssey that was absolutely amazing!). We've also attended dinners hosted to bring our community together, craft events just for the military spouses to get to know one another, and events that WWP partnered with Team RWB to encourage healthy networking within our community. They really came through when it came to getting my VA claims through. They took the wheel and I basically sat back and let them deal with all the paperwork. My rep constantly checked in with me throughout the process and all my claims were a success getting percentages that I never thought I would get! So I don't understand any of this smack talk about WWP, must just be a bunch a negative Nancies that hate life all together and think things are suppose to be handed to them. read more

I looked up WWP profit last year it was BILLIONS. Im sure the program does help some people, it must considering the number of highly paid employees, huge facilities, etc. I was shocked to see one job description 'public speaker or representative' had qualifications required as "able to solicit money via public channels" "ability to make WWP appealing and counter neg remarks and solicit money". CAVEAT Im sure the program HAS HELPED some vets, its so big and all over the country now and not ALL offices are bad. Regardless the jacksonville, FL office screwed me & others over & didn't even have the decency to respond to emails asking why we are treated this way. if you want to help vets do NOT give $$ to this company!) WWP is NOT great for vets at all. You have to 'fit' a certain criteria, and 'act, respond' a certain way in order for them to allow you to participate in any program. For example, if you voice your concern about ANYTHING that casts a cloud over WWP they will drop you and any program or assistance you ask for will be ignored or denied. Im NOT KIDDING! They keep an online record of EVERY VETs interaction! Comments you say! What you call about! Its like the VA!! 100% of donations do NOT go to vets, 70+ % of money does NOT go to programs as they state. You will find all the 3/4 day 'trips staff take, and the staff "coordination conferences" they have all paid for with your donations. They even went on a CRUISE?! Not with veterans....but together. This year a group went to ALASKA on a all expenses paid trip. If a vet goes on a 'odessy' mental health 3 day workshop, the staff stays extra days, show up in expensive camo jackets, clothing, belts, bags, polo shirts, etc all with a small wwp logo and they make vets feel grateful for a plastic water bottle and over sized t-shirt if they're lucky...its all about hook ups and abusing the donations people make. They're mis-managed like most orgs due to how big they became from caring, honest public wanting to help veterans. I just wish the CEO would come down to the base level and hold a conf with the ACTUAL VETS AND ASK/FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON AND NEEDS IMPROVING. Thats what a leader does and well it has NOT happened. read more

This organization receives billions of dollars in donations to provide services and assistance to veterans, however, they discriminate against and exclude a majority of veterans from having access to the resources and services their donors pay for them to provide. 1 in 3 veterans are involved in the legal system. Veteran homelessness increased over 7% in the past 2 years. The suicide rate for veterans is 1.5 times higher than the general population. They discriminate and turn away veterans who are involved in the legal system, for something as simple as a pending court case. Veterans who would benefit from their Odyssey program which provides an intensive track for veterans struggling with mental health and PTSD are denied access to it. The veterans struggling with mental health and legal issues who would benefit from their offerings and resources the most are being denied and turned away by this organization that boldly claims to help veterans. The majority of veterans are homeless or involved in the legal system. Those are the veterans that need help. read more

This was my sixth request to have my deceased mother (October 2018) removed from their junk mail list. I am still receiving solicitation letters addressed to her. I have been a Family Support Member (FSM) Alumni with WWP for several years, and have been attending their programs since 2020. At first, due to COVID, all of the workshops I attended were virtual via Zoom, including writing and art workshops, yoga, Family Trivia Night, and several specialized mental health based workshops. I have since enjoyed several in-person events, including Family Arcade Day, and some art workshops with my teenage son. In September of 2022, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Project Odyssey, and it literally changed my life. P.O. is a 12-week mental health workshop, beginning with an in-person weekend of mentally & physically challenging activities, designed to reinforce the skills which are taught in workshops and group discussions, ending with each individual setting a goal for themselves for the next 12 weeks. After the adventure-based skill-building weekend, the two P.O. Specialists followed up with me individually via email, text & phone calls, as well as having regularly scheduled Zoom meetings with all of the attendees. During the retreat, for the first time in years, I felt UNDERSTOOD; I was able to connect with fellow FSM, and after feeling lonely and isolated for so long, I finally had friends, several of which I speak with regularly, six months later, despite us living in different time zones! Without WWP, I would still be in that dark place in my life, as though I had nothing, was nobody, was utterly stuck in my situation and could do nothing about it; feeling desperately alone, as though I had nobody who would listen to, understand, empathize with my struggles. Now, I have not only a community of wonderful people, friends who care about me, I also have skills and tools which have, and continue to improve my outlook and quality of life! read more

All I can say is that he's very knowledgeable on the process and he will ensure whomever understand the process. I followed his guidance and we met the timelines together. I have to say with this organization having so much to help veterans why they would brush me off and send me to ask other organizations for help instead of helping themselves maybe I don't meet there qualifications I thought I did being 100% military disabled permanently I am embarrassed enough I asked for help with Xmas gifts and stuff I just feel they wanted me to totally humiliate my self and beg other organizations for help they did nothing for me except pass me own to someone else like I was a problem or burden it's hard being a man and a veteran to ask for help anyway read more
