I was traveling and needed last-minute help sending my kid to a place that not only taught academics, but also good etiquette and kindness. The staff went out of their way to get me enrolled quickly and even took the time to get to know my kid on short notice so that they could personalize the education to her level. The female Director and team here are also mothers, and their own kids come to this school. They understood what I was going through as a busy and stressed out, mama! My kid even started to talk more sweetly and like a civilized grownup afterward. Hah! Thank you for being my angels, and for taking care of my kid in a safe and clean environment so that I could focus on taking care of my brother at the hospital!! read more

We appreciated the engaging curriculum and friendly staff. The school fosters both creativity and learning in a balanced way

A letter from a grateful mom (and a linguist) Dear Parents, I want to share our family's experience with WorldSpeak School, where my child is currently enrolled. As someone who has been researching bilingualism since 2009 and now works in higher ed (UCLA), I've spent years learning about the benefits of raising multilingual children. When a colleague - who had sent all three of her kids to WorldSpeak - told me about this school, I knew right away it was the place for us. I registered my child as soon as I could, and it's been one of the best decisions we've made. WorldSpeak offers full-immersion programs in Spanish, Chinese, and Russian. It focuses on every child's natural ability to pick up new languages during their "window of opportunity," when their brains are especially receptive to learning. But it's about more than just language - kids here develop academic skills, explore music and arts, learn life skills, make friends, and have so much fun along the way. What makes WorldSpeak stand out is how it connects cutting-edge research with real-world practice. Studies like those by Bice and Kroll (2019) show that even children who grow up speaking only one language benefit from exposure to linguistic diversity. Hearing other languages - even when they don't fully understand them--helps shape their brain networks in meaningful ways. Even more remarkable, Sundara, Ward, Conboy, and Kuhl (2019) found that as little as five total hours of exposure to a second language can leave a measurable impact on young children's language learning. Why does this matter? Because the benefits go far beyond just speaking another language. Research into bilingualism highlights cognitive advantages, particularly in executive functioning - skills like focusing attention, switching tasks, and problem-solving. Studies (Bialystok, 1999; Bialystok et al., 2004; Costa et al., 2008) have consistently shown that bilingual children often excel in these areas, giving them tools for success in many aspects of life. And here's something exciting: WorldSpeak is currently looking to form a new Italian group and is always open to adding new languages. If you know families interested in an Italian program - or any other language - you should definitely let them know. Finally, what truly makes WorldSpeak so special is its wonderful teachers. They create incredible experiences that go far beyond academics or language learning. The care and attention they give to every child make this school feel like a second home. As a linguist and a parent of two trilingual kids, I can't recommend WorldSpeak highly enough. It's been an amazing place for my child to grow and thrive, and I hope more families discover what this unique school has to offer. WorldSpeak currently has two locations in West LA, making it convenient for families in the area. You can learn more about their programs and philosophy on their website: https://worldspeakschool.com/ read more

Worldspeak organizes their classes along multiple language silos (Russian, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese), each run by a native speaker of those respective languages. In our case, we wanted our children to have an immersive experience in Mandarin Chinese during the day to improve their ability to retain aspects of our culture that would be lost in an English-only program. We've had excellent experience with the director Angelika - she commands an impressive depth of knowledge in child-care and child development and patient in walking us through the WorldSpeak program: how children are onboarded, and ongoing communications with parents. read more

We feel so lucky to find such a wonderful school for our son in west LA! All of the teachers and director love and respect every single child here and always respond to parent's questions or concerns promptly. We used to send our son to a mandarin immersion preschool in Culver City for 6 months and then pulled him out after the pandemic. Looking back, this is by far the best decision we ever made for him. He was crying a lot at that school because he missed mommy. The teacher always sent him to the director whose solution was to say mean things to kids, trying to shut their mouths up (his older sister told us about that after school). If we didn't pull our son out from that school and transfer him to WorldSpeak, I think he will never enjoy learning at school like now. Because of that, we learned that the best school for kids is not the one with fancy equipments or Montessorri-inspired materials. What kids need, is just a safe environment and a group of professional teachers who truly love and care about your kiddos. Our son not only learned so much in just one year from their TK program, but he also developed a great level of self-confidence academically and socially through the love of his English, Mandarin, Math, Chess teachers and friends. This school really exceeds our expectations! It was such a relief when the director and the teachers told us that our little one is so smart and so happy at school (They sent pictures to the parents every day). The other school's director was trying to imply us that our kid might be behind because he was crying for mommy and liked to crawl up on his teacher's back during class (Come on! What do you expect from a 3 year old kid? Reading Shakespeare in the classroom?) Thank god we didn't believe in her and look at our little boy now: He got 100% score on his English and math tests! And he can write so many Chinese characters at kindergarten-level when he is still at TK! It is all because we put him in the right hands at WorldSpeak!! Thank you Angelika, Michaela, Teacher Jennifer, Li, Diana, and Ashin for taking such a great care of our son. I wish we would have sent both of our kids to this school in the very beginning to provide them with the happiest memories during their early childhood. If you are considering sending your little one to a school that offers the best education and care, this place is definitely the best option! read more

Having sent both our children to Worldspeak for the last 4 years, I can speak with high confidence to the excellent care and professional curriculum that Angelika and her team provide. Over the years they have exceeded all expectations of a school for our children. We have been consistently impressed with the transparent and rational approach to dealing with the COVID pandemic and education in general. Every teacher that our kids have had has shown a foundation of compassion and a true love for teaching young kids. My wife and I would highly recommend any parent interested in language immersion programs to strongly consider Worldspeak. Trust, communication, kindness and leadership are the ultimate barometers for early education. And by those measure and more, Worldspeak passes with flying colors. read more

We've sent all our three kids to worldspeak. I love it. It fosters a great environment of cultural understanding through language learning. I love the ethos and execution of their education curriculum. We don't speak a very common language and they made us feel welcome and at home. A wonderful place! read more

This is great elementary school for your kids if you want them to have an amazing education. They have a very small groups where teacher have about 4 to 5 kids. Kids learn math, science, different languages and more. My daughter is 2 and she goes to their daycare/preschool program and I would want her to go in a future to WorldSpeak elementary school because I would not want anything else for my own child education. I volunteer at WorldSpeak elementary school and I see kids speak Spanish, Russian, Chinese and teachers there make learning fun and interesting. read more

I originally found this school from my mother's primary care doctor. She recommended the school because she had put her own daughter in this school. What a wonderful thing to have your child be bilingual or trilingual if you can. I originally put my son in January 2020, but pulled him out in March due to the pandemic. The little time he was there he enjoyed playing with the kids. I then put him back in August 2021, after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. He remembered some of the kids he played with and made new friends. The school made me feel comfortable in keeping my son safe by doing morning temperature checks, wearing mask, and keeping a distance at snack and lunch time between the kids. When outbreaks happen they were transparent and took proper precautions with the other kids. While at home during the pandemic, I tried to home school the alphabets and numbers. That was tough because he wasn't interested and just wanted to play. In the 10 months my son was in pre-K he has learned so much and made really good friends. His level of learning is at kindergarten so next year will be a review when he starts a new school. A big plus is the school provides two healthy snacks a day and an option to purchase a hot meal. The class sizes are small so kids get the attention they need and want. We have been very happy with this school and will miss it next year. Thank you Teacher Jeniffer, Michaela, Diana, Astin, Angelika for all your help, nurturing and kindness to my son. read more

We are so lucky to have found WorldSpeak for our daughter. It was the only school we found which allowed her to continue learning Spanish, which is one of our highest priorities in the city of Los Ángeles. But that's not all: beyond the great bilingual education, the school has the most wonderful staff- we always feel welcome, supported and like we really matter. Communication is open and constant and we have nothing but great experiences. Our daughter loves her school and we're happy to say WorldSpeak is an important part of our family. ¡Muchas gracias, Michaela and team! read more

My son has learned so much from the teachers at WorldSpeak, and we have been amazed by his newly acquired language skills in only 10 months spent at the school. I wish I had enrolled him sooner. The teachers and administration are super caring and personable. I felt totally comfortable leaving my son with them. We attended the school on Westwood Blvd but the owner is the same as the one on Malcolm. Our primary motivation for sending our son to WorldSpeak was for him to learn how to speak Mandarin. We had been generally happy with his other preschool but it lacked any foreign language development curriculum. As a toddler, my son had been exposed to Spanish, Mandarin and English spoken at the house, but he refused to speak anything except English. My wife and I speak Mandarin reasonably well but frequently flow between English and Mandarin. After 3 months at WorldSpeak, he spontaneously conversed with us in Mandarin. He will ask us questions in Mandarin on his own and will certainly respond in Mandarin if asked in Mandarin. In fact, his Mandarin is now better than his older sister's. Our older child at one point could speak Mandarin reasonably well but lost most of her speaking ability after attending T-K and Kindergarten. We regret not having sent our daughter to WorldSpeak as well but we were not aware of the program when she was younger. Given my own rudimentary Chinese reading ability, my son now has learned more Chinese characters than me. In addition to Mandarin, my son maintains his Spanish language skills and can understand Spanish but not speak it. We opted for him to learn Mandarin 5 days a week in the mornings, but in the afternoon he has less structured time with the Spanish teachers. I believe the school offers a formal Spanish and French language program as well. Of course WorldSpeak also provides English language, Math, Art & Music instructions so we are very happy with the well rounded nature of the program. My son learned how to play songs on the piano. I didn't even know he was learning until he showed me one day at home to my surprise. There is English language, Chinese language, and math homework assigned but it is up to the parent to decide how much the child does. Meals are included in the program and that was one less thing for us to worry. We were initially concerned about the smaller playground because my son was accustomed to a rather large playground at his former school. He is an active boy and has never complained that there was not enough to do during recess at WorldSpeak. There is no official school parking but I never had a problem finding a spot in front of the school, around the corner or at Sprouts as a last resort. I found the teachers and administrators to be very flexible and reachable. Of course, we saw the teachers everyone morning and afternoon but I was also able to text or email them if I had a special request. My son's last day with WorldSpeak was last Friday and it was a sad day. He started kindergarten today at a new school with no Mandarin language program. We have enrolled both children in a Saturday Chinese school and hope that will further (or at least maintain) their language skills. We have looked at several local preschools, and our two kids have now attended 3 of them. We liked the other schools as well; however, this is the only one that I've written a review because I felt compelled to share the unique education that this school can provide. If you want to instill foreign language skills in your preschooler, this is the best option that I know of on the Westside. read more

My 5th grade son and 3rd grade daughter have benefited greatly from Worldspeak's Advanced Math Program. The instructors are phenomenal (UCLA professors and graduate students). Their passion for math is contagious and their ability to engage the children is impressive. Parents are encouraged to stay during class which can be very enjoyable. Thanks to Worldspeak, math has become a fun and important aspect of our week! read more

My daughter Samantha started this school when she was 3, downstairs with the "little kids." I was very excited when we got in. Immediately Sammie made friends and loved coming here. She was learning Spanish and Mandarin. My daughter was a bit spoiled and liked to cry - the best thing about WorldSpeak is they knew how to talk to her and reach her. Sammie listened and grew so fast - she began talking and communicating her needs. We began having real conversations with her and her tantrums stopped. After she turned 4 we put her upstairs with the "big kids" - that's when she really started speaking Chinese and Spanish in addition to English. Again huge improvement with behavior and manners. I remember hearing from a stranger that she "talks like an adult." Enrolling Sammie here was the best decision for the family and Sammie - for Sammie it was her friends that made the biggest difference. She's always talking about her friends at school. They form deep bonds. Sometimes she wants to stay in school after it ends. For us, it's being able to raise a child with the help of the school and the education she got, especially with regards to communication. I like how they give each child individual attention and cater the schooling to their individual needs. The program let's the kids have fun while learning. She's turning 5 now and ready for kindergarten l, dual language immersion. THANK YOU TO THE STAFF AND EVERYONE AT WORLDSPEAK!!! read more

My two sons (6 and 9) come to WorldSpeak for math circle type of classes. The school offers advanced after school program for kids who have aptitude and enthusiasm for math, providing a great alternative to the often confusing and shallow math curriculum in public school. In addition to learning new material every week there is an option to attend problem solving classes geared towards math competition prep. My boys love to come to their math classes, they feel stronger about their math at school and proud that they can solve the really hard problems. read more
