This is one of the best highlights and actually the biggest display in this small beautiful town. Easily located on a corner street by other big objects, this piece is just absolutely fitting. Very well made as my only concern is if this thing rocks on a really windy day

If you ever get the opportunity to pass through Casey, IL the worlds largest rocking chair (and other nearby world's largest items) is a fun activity that you can do/walk/see in town! Although you can't sit or climb in this rocking chair, it's ginormous size is quite magnificent to see!

    Very big chair

This chair is really as big as it looks. Today it was one of the most popular attractions as there was a constant stream of people looking and taking photos.

It's strange that I've visited the world's #1 AND #2 largest rocking chairs, and they are both on historic roads! This one, on the Historic National Road in Casey, takes the line in the Guinness book. It's a great selfie/photo landmark and just a fun, quirky thing to look at. I don't know if there are certain times they let people sit on it - or if they even do at all. Be sure to check out all the other large attractions in this town!

Super cute! Wow what a huge ROCKING CHAIR somewhere in Casey Il. When I say its cute in Casey ITS REALLY CUTE!!!!!

Another amazing site in the small town of Casey Illinois, known for all their large products they have created. If you look at items in the picture by the rocking chair you will see how large it is. Definitely a place to explore!!

Fun quick detour off I-70 Chair and all the things in town were great. The Golf Tee a bit of a disappointment, needs some fresh paint. I would take the time to see it. Worth the time.

I had heard about Casey, IL and its collection of the "World's Largest" objects, so on the road trip from IND to STL, we stopped to get gas and check it out for ourselves, as it's halfway between the two cities. Maybe it was the overcast weather, but I was a little underwhelmed. They were fun to see and it's a quick, easy drive from the interstate exit, but there's not much more to the town than that. The rocking chair was probably my favorite! Let's just say on our way home, we stopped in nearby Effingham for gas & lunch instead of coming through here again.

Easily one of the Top 5 coolest things I've seen all year long, or maybe even within the last five years. The rocking chair is enormous and can't be missed. It really sets the tone for everything else you're going to see in Casey. Mad kudos to the generosity of this family and all the gifts they've given this small town. Talk about a unique way to brand or rebrand a community. While visiting today we saw cars from all over the USA. As easy exit off of I-70 and Casey is nicely located between Indianapolis and St. Louis. A Bucket-List must!

So happy we saw the signs on the highway and stopped in Casey, IL. I love roadside attractions like this. Definitely worth the stop because there are so many world's largest items here.

This is a sight to behold. We never realized this little town had so many of there's 'Worlds Largest' things. The rocking chair is one of the most impressive for sure.

On the the big ones in the downtown core is this, the World's Largest Wind Chime. It is accessed through the patio area of what looks like a cute restaurant, Whitling Whimsy Cafe, which was closed on Sunday when I was here. In fact, most of the town was closed on Sunday. Still, the Things are accessible. The Wind Chime is certified by the Guinness Book of World Records and are 49 feet tall with the largest chime being 42 feet long. There is a center rope pull so that you can make the chimes sound if it's not a windy day. I like that this one is interactive. [Review 19676 overall - 131 in Illinois - 648 of 2023.]

Big fun! - - - - - -…read more- - September, 2024 Visit We learned of Casey, IL, several years ago in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch article sharing how Casey is home to many of the world's largest items; at the time of the article, the total was 8 items; the total is now up to 12 of the world's largest items. This year we visited for a third time and it gets better each trip! Casey is pronounced Kay-zee, and Jim Bolin grew up there and is the person responsible for starting the world's largest items; the wind chimes were first, then the golf tee, and now several items. This visit we saw: 1. World's Largest Teeter Totter 2. World's Largest Wind Chime (first item) - we rang it 3. World's Largest Barber Shop Pole 4. World's Largest Mailbox 5. World's Largest Rocking Chair We also saw some big things that are not the world's largest: 1. Ruler 2. Pencil 3. Knitting Needles 4. Nails Twisted Around Each Other Puzzle 5. Antlers At the world's largest mailbox, we were happy to see that the ice cream shop was still open, and we all enjoyed two scoops: - Salted Caramel and Superman - Salted Caramel and Mint chocolate Chip - Salted Caramel, 2 - Zanzibar Dark Chocolate and Strawberry Very good! We saw the poem "God Made a Farmer" and listened to the Paul Harvey rendition of that important poem, on YouTube as we drove through town. Thank you to the Bolin family and all at Casey's Big Things in a Small Town Workshop who make these wonderful things for us all; the entire town makes you smile, and the world needs more smiles! ----- ----- -----
