I was very surprised to see the latest review was a few months ago. Especially since these guys are busy almost everyday! If you're on this page and thinking about it, look no further! This is the best skydiving company! The instructors were all very professional and informative. If you're nervous, they even try to calm you. I can say this, the scariest part of the whole experience is driving to the location. Crazy how your mind can really intimidate you. The instructors are all professional and nice! So Disrespectful. I called a day prior to ask a couple questions and the lady that answered the phone had an attitude for no reason whatsoever like idk if u hate your job or people but the professional is not there. I saw a deal on groupon for a $119 tandem jump which included the video and photos but did not include the $69 for instructor training. I asked her about the deal and she said "We don't go with groupon. We can take you in as a walk in tomorrow." We were so confused but asked her if we can come in tomorrow to price check it then on the spot and she was like yes. Next morning we were on our way and went to the address and when we got there we quickly realized that the navigation was wrong so i called the center and asked where to go and i didn't get her instructions the first time so i asked again and she answered back with a snarky smart comment "I already told you." ..... okay? do your job and tell me where the correct navigation is at. I didn't even bother asking her at that point anymore question so i ended the call. We somehow found the directions after and walked into the office. We said Hello and no one greeted us which is honestly unprofessional and it gives you like second thoughts on the people that work here and the atmosphere they bring to first time jumpers. But it's whatever it's not that big of a deal, maybe they didn't hear us. Then i'm guessing the lady that came up to the desk was the person we were talking on the phone with because her attitude o my lord. We start asking about the groupon and she cuts us off and goes "You were supposed to order the voucher a day ahead" welp we didn't know that because you literally told us to walk in and see the prices. I start price matching and the groupon was $188 and asking her about the price match difference w and without groupon and a guy im guessing works there just cuts me off while i was taking saying that at the end the prices would be the same. um.... $188 and the price they were giving $298 without the $69 for the instructor is a huge difference thank you very much. They started giving us attitude and arguing so we just left. I will not stand for the disrespect they were showing us. Disgusting behavior from grown ass adults. read more

Fun jumpers, beware! I'm not particularly eager to leave negative reviews, but my experience with this DZ continues to deteriorate, and I'd be remised if I didn't share my thoughts. I learned how to skydive at this DZ. Jason was my classroom instructor. He is awesome! If you are interested in AFF, I recommend Jason. And Justin helped me fine-tune my skills through a canopy course and assistance with obtaining my A, B, and C licenses. Justin is THE MAN! You will not find a more qualified skydiving instructor. He also helps me with my rigging needs. Jason and Justin are a kick-butt team that will teach you how to skydive safely! Seriously. I showed up at the DZ on Sunday to get help with my C-license. I completed all qualifications and obtained approval to apply for said license. I was super stoked and wanted to celebrate by jumping with some of my buddies. But, unbeknownst to me, I am not permitted to jump at this DZ. Why? The owner, Mike, accuses me of writing a negative review earlier in the year under a fake name. Is it appropriate to ban someone for a negative review? A review resulting from his actions? And guess what. I didn't write the review! So, I'm banned from this DZ for a review I didn't write. And no one said anything to me about the ban until I requested a jump. Interesting. I reached out to Mike on Sunday to try and resolve this. Unfortunately, I haven't received a response. So, here we are. I suggest you look at the review left by Anders Anjali six months ago. I didn't write it, but he must have been at the DZ that day because it is spot on. I mean, SPOT.ON. I was minutes away from a jump that day, standing in my gear with a friend. As we watched our plane taxi down the runway, the owner, Mike, had Justin tell all fun jumpers to go home. He couldn't even do it himself! I no longer feel comfortable jumping here (not that I can, right? LOL). I have been treated so poorly at this DZ. I suggest looking at the other negative reviews, not necessarily for their content but for the tone of Mike's response. His response might illustrate what I've laid out in this review. And, is that a nice way to speak to someone? Right or wrong, I think we all deserve some respect. In conclusion, I find it troubling that I'm not permitted to jump at this DZ because of a negative review I didn't write. And that's why I'm writing this review. If you want to be a better skydiver, I recommend working with Justin or Jason. But if you're looking to fun-jump, I recommend going elsewhere. In addition to poor treatment, the prices of a fun jump load are almost double that of other DZs. So I think you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. And guess what? You'll probably be treated better, too. Be well! read more

Went to World skydiving center to watch a friend tandem jump for her 50th and watched a guy named Chris treat my friend horribly. Guy was a complete jerk right before her jump. The way he spoke with her was completely unacceptable! I do appreciate the thoroughness in checking safety, however If I was even thinking about doing this, it would never be with this company! Chris needs an attitude adjustment immediately if they want new or return customers. So you're supposed to just trust the man strapped to you, that you have known all of ten minutes. You have to trust him with your life. And I actually did. I have wanted to sky dive forever, and was too heavy for a long while. Then I went and it rained. Well..this past Saturday the sun was out in full force, and I was about to jump out of a plane. HOLY EFF. The waiting time made me a little more nervous than I was to begin with, and it was like a thousand degrees out. Then it was time to get into a harness situation and meet the person that was going to take me for the ride of my life. I jumped with Eric, and somehow I felt like I wasn't going to die once I met him. He made some conversation and asked questions all while explaining what was going to happen and telling me it was going to be awesome. After saying goodbye to my friends aka the ground crew, I was walking towards a super small plane, getting some last minute direction and then getting in. This plane is crazy tiny. There were four grown men and myself all smooshed in there. The flight was nice, just looking around mostly. I did start laughing to myself at something and I think the instructor thought I was crying! When you get the goggles on and the door is open..I was somehow not really that nervous anymore, and we just...fell into the sky. The drop is like nothing I can even describe. The air is rushing so fast that your teeth get dry, I was screaming and laughing and then poof-you feel the parachute open and you're just floating..you're floating around in the sky. The view is out of this world, and it seems so quiet. I can see myself wanting to do this over and over again. When I noticed that the ground was quickly approaching I started to worry about the landing process, and then Eric talked me through it and it was a piece of cake. Just lift your feet up and coast on in. It was then that I noticed my shoe laces had come untied, and I thought, oh no I'm gonna lose my shoe-don't worry I didn't! I landed and could not stop laughing. I got unharnessed and headed inside to wait for my video and pictures, which were given to me on a flash drive. From booking to landing on the ground, this was an outstanding experience. You will feel like your'e driving into the middle of nowhere, but just follow the gravel road. The staff is all really welcoming, considering they are total badasses that do this all day. Thank you so much Eric, I would recommend you to anyone that might be a little nervous about jumping, you are the bees knees, and thank you World Skydiving Center for this wonderful experience!! read more

First time doing this, both my adult daughter and myself (I'm 59 yrs old). Our instructors were low key and wonderful. Can't remember their names; I think mine was Mark. Or Mike. Lol. Too much going on to worry about names. But they were great, as was everyone there. The experience was terrifying (leaving the plane), exhilarating (free fall), and beautiful & peaceful (once the chute opened). Anyone who is considering doing this? Yes!! This place and there people are amazing. First off, I didn't read the paperwork or bold print stating you have to be under 250 lbs so when I signed up my husband who is over that limit he could not go. The contract is non refundable but instead of losing the money altogether, they gave him a year to lose the weight and come back. Needless to say, he lost the weight and we came back to redo his birthday present a year ago. We both were first-timers and did a tandem jump with Mike and Erick and they were great! They made us feel comfortable and told us what to expect. I myself was petrified to the point of almost crying and I can't explain to you how that feeling in itself turned into such an amazing experience that I would totally do it again with these guys. I recommend the video for sure but either way, I recommend doing your first jump or any jump at World Skydiving Center. My husband surprised me with a sky-diving gift for our anniversary. He knew it was on my bucket list. And boy am I glad he did! World Skydiving Center is AMAZING. The staff were friendly and really funny. I was strapped to Mike and he explained everything thoroughly and informed me of what to expect. It was truly an unforgettable experience. We went up with two of their jumpers and they were so much fun. They hung outside of the plane and one of them actually descended with us (which helped me a lot (I don't like heights)) lol. He free fell and smiled/made funny faces; it was great! I definitely plan on returning and bringing some friends! This place was a HUGE let down. I called on a Friday to make a reservation and confirmation for that Sunday which went smoothly. Once Sunday arrived, I traveled to the center which had horrible signage. Soon arrival to the gate I tried calling the center multiple times and the phone number just coincidentally went out of service. I'm glad I saved my money, I'll be giving it to a skydiving business that actually knows how to run a professional business. read more

Fantastic second tandem jump! Went with Mike the first time and Eric this time. Both are awesome! Eric was professional and thorough but made sure I had a fun time as well. It helps you relax and enjoy it when you know you're in good hands and you completely trust the pro you're jumping with. I was more excited than nervous. I booked a tandem jump for my husband and I for his birthday gift. We had an AMAZING experience jumping with Mark and Eric. Eric did an awesome job of making us feel comfortable as he strapped us into our harnesses. We had a short weather delay, but the staff kept us informed and did everything they could to make us comfortable. They even got out the corn hole boards to help us pass the time. We felt really safe the entire time and Eric and Mark did a great job of telling us what we could expect. We also upgraded to the 13,500 ft jump! It was so worth it for the extra free fall time which was the best part! Overall, such an amazing experience. Could not recommend it more highly. read more

This is a great local DZ on the westside of Jacksonville (and only one in Jax) at the Herlong airport. Russel is a great owner and solid dude and the rest of the staff is great. You should have no qualms with jumping here, trusting them with your life, and to have a good experience for your money. They welcome all kinds of jumpers; experienced, students wanting to advance their skills, new jumpers, and tandems. They've been open for about a year now and are currently running a caravan as I type this (and until April 2017 is what Russell said and possibly longer). It's a bit tough to locate and get to the manifest area, but once you get past that little hurdle all is well. They accept cash and credit. If you've never jumped or are looking to get certified don't hesitate to check this spot out! read more

This place is as unprofessional as it gets. Mike, the OWNER, who pretends not to be the owner when there are issues is snarky and arrogant. Our jump got cancelled 30 minutes before our scheduled time due to airplane issues but we weren't able to reschedule as they suggested because we were visiting Jacksonville. Mike, THE OWNER, was extremely rude over the phone when the situation was explained to him and told us that "he had never seen the owner give refunds in the time he's worked there" -- low and behold, he is the owner but wasn't professional enough to tell us that. He probably does this a lot. I should have known when he was evasive when I asked about the owner/manager saying he couldn't give me ANY of his information. We wrote the company an email explaining our situation requesting our money back and didn't even get a reply! That email went straight into Mike's inbox and deleted. WHAT A RIP OFF!! $450 GONE...for no services!! read more
