The World Peace Cafe is a hidden gem situated in the Bodhisattva Buddhist Centre in Hove. The Centre itself is situated in beautiful grounds, which offer a delightful escape from the madness of Brighton. Free parking is available onsite for customers and wifi is available in the cafe.
The cafe itself is large and spacious. There is no loud music or other background noise so it's the perfect place if you want somewhere to relax, read, work or just enjoy the peace and quiet. In the summer, you can also make use of the tables in the peace garden which is a lovely place to relax and grab some lunch.
Food is vegetarian. There is a great selection and is very tasty. I can particularly recommend the quiche. The cakes are delicious too, and many are vegan, my favourites are the lemon polenta cake and the date slice.
The staff are all really friendly and welcoming, you don't have to be either a Buddhist or a vegetarian to enjoy this setting. However, there is a meditation room that is free to use if this is your thing.
The cafe is also very child friendly, with high chairs, changing facilities, and toys to keep the little ones entertained.
