Beware, parts changers not mechanics…read more I brought my car in because it had a loud clunking noise that was heavy enough to feel through the floor. I didn't have time to deal with it so I took it in. They said I needed struts (which I agree were bad) and a CV axle, which took a week and cost me almost $2,000. They called me to say it was done and was all good except for a small squeak in the brakes. I picked it up after hours and wasn't even out of the parking lot and the clunking was still there over every tiny bump in the parking lot, there was no improvement whatsoever. And the mileage was the same as when I dropped it off, so they never even drove the car. I took it home and got under it the next day and found the problem in under 5 minutes and I'm not even a mechanic. The entire subframe was loose and clunking up and down when I pushed with my hand. A quick search on Google and I learned the bushings were broken. I replaced the bushings and now the car is like new again. I can't see how they could have tried very hard if at all to troubleshoot my problem. They just saw some worn parts and decided to charge me to replace them. And they were working all around that loose subframe the whole time and never once noticed it was loose. And they never drove the car to check if the problem was solved. This is complete incompetence. When I called the next morning they acted surprised and said I could bring the car back. I would never bring a car back to them. I'd probably end up buying more parts and still not have it fixed.

UPDATE - I am moving my review up to 3 stars for now. The General Manager did reach out to me for a…read morefull, open and honest conversation. He understands why I have the opinion I have and I understand why RSW feels as they do. We have agreed to have an independent shop evaluate the external damage and will continue the discussion thereafter. Also, they have agreed to address any interior damage. Was having a parasitic drain on the battery. Ended upo having to haver the aftermarket remote starter removed and a new dash wiring harness. Car was in shop for almost 3 weeks. Came out and hopefully the electrical is fixed (need to let car sit for a while to know). Bad news is there is considerable damage to the car. There is a large dent in the rear driver's door plus scratches on the inside driver door jam, shift knob, emergency brake lever & glove box. The car did not go in damaged as they suggest. Was waiting for them to do the right thing before posting but as expected they denied everything. They said they would look at the interior damage and address it as a courtesy. When asked to check their cameras they said their cameras only go back 2 weeks. Interesting that they kept the car for just over that???

Unfortunately when dealing with a 40 year old vehicle, many parts are discontinued - so you have to get the best supplemental version. Mike seamlessly did the impossible. His team not only made it work but before chalking up a win - continued to check to ensure that the work was solid. And it was - it ALWAYS is.

When one part on my car broke, instead of just repairing it and charging me, he took the time to call the dealership to see if there were any recalls. It turned out the part was covered under a recall, which ended up saving me several thousand dollars! Mike always takes the time to explain what's going on, never pressures you into unnecessary repairs, and wants to help. He cares about his customers and takes pride in his work. I highly recommend Mike. He's kept my Honda running great for years, and I'm grateful to have found someone so dependable.

Basically telling me I would have to pay for the whole job again. When I ask him what he meant he told me his mechanic has to work on the car again which is about 5 Hrs of labor which was the same price $700 not to mention the $1100 he initially charged for the whole job.He was very dismissive and didnt want to stand behind his work or guarantee it .Absolutely absurd! This is not how a business should conduct business. I could of taken it anywhere else for half the price. I had to take it to my mechanic and pay again for the job to be done the right way... these guys at elite are clowns. Guess what my mechanic found out .These Fucktards at ELITE AUTO WORK knew exactly what they did and never told me a thing. The mechanic snap one of the screws in half then tried to take it out with a tap and snap that inside trying to take the screw out and left that inside. He then put silicone around the new valve cover, cut an old screw or put the same one he snapped with silicone.I guess he put silicone just so it would look like it was screwed in.Instead of just taking out the screw and the tap that he broke. This would of never worked with all the pressure inside the valve cover when the car is on.So basically you charge your consumer double for your mechanics incompetence & dishonesty. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I would give zero stars.I posted pictures of what these guys do at the Elite shop.--- **consumer Beware**

The expansion into now four stores has not multiplied the inventory, but divided it. BTW: I don't appreciate the comments from the heavy set man in the West Milford location on my purchases - perhaps he's a delivery guy, who should NOT be speaking with customers, yet he always injects his opinion, "I guess the customer is always right" he quips after he disagrees with my diagnosis of an electrical problem. Gee, I'm only a degreed electrical engineer with 50 years experience.
