Nice store. Small by American standards, but I think pretty common for Australia. Decent selection, clean and easy to navigate. read more

Have been going here for a long time and they keep expanding…read more It Started out with a single shop bought out the next shop twice. It has a big range and is a viable alternative to the nearby Woolworths supermarket for most things plus flowers. The quality of some produce has gone down tho since the last extension and the price gone up. The potatoes and pumpkin used to be excellent and several other items used to be excellent but are now no better than Woolworths supermarket. One or two items tho remain better. The cliental is varied but the people sometimes hold the queue up while they decide to do more shopping. the queues can get very long. Don't be in a hurry if you go there. Some fellow purchases are a bit impatient too and will nudge there way with the flowers or trolleys etc while your being served. I have started to go to the Prahran market instead of late and am tending to move away from toscano's altogether for the above reasons.
The obvious and at times blatant way Woolworths uses psychology on their customers to trick them…read moreinto spending more money, see in the photos a heap of "low price" stickers which only repeat the original price listed on the products. when I questioned staff they spoke to their manager at 12:09pm who stated the prices are going to go up in the future so they are low prices. This a sneaky tactic to get customers to spend more money. #alwayschecktheoriginalprice
Home of the Mexican Street Corn! This Wooley's is…read morewonderful! It's big, clean and chock full o' heaps of Aussie provisions like vegemite and marmite. They sell ready-to-make packs of Mexican Street Corn here, where it's two ears of corn, with packets of mayo, Parmesan cheese, chipotle sauce, and ground pepper, all ready to toss on the barbie! Amazing. I live in Texas, and we don't even have those things, to the best of my knowledge. I'm in awe of the Aussie cookin' ingenuity! There was only self-checkout when I went here. There isn't even an area where a clerk could help you if you needed it. The meats section seemed clean, and full of various cuts, but I couldn't find any kangaroo meat here when I went. They offered a handful of pre-made selections of sandwiches and salads for takeaway, which was nice! This seems to be the largest supermarket in the area. It takes up the whole bottom floor of a giant building that's vacant above it.

Hmmm, this place is pretty much a drunk's store…read more If i have to be perfectly honest, and I will, half of this modest size store is dedicated to being a bottle shop. Sure. it's handy and all, but there's a huge spirits wall, with whiskeys, rums, bourbons and vodkas, its a shame I haven't noticed the gin yet. Of course it features the run of the mill and rather plain Jane beers, RTD's and ciders. It's an eclectic mix of alcohol, and quite a good place in the immediate area if you need to stock up on anything. Oh and they also have a small last minute/ emergency food/grocery / household items are and store. Did I mention the bottle shop?
