Loving the new Woolies at Aspley Hypermarket! It's new and clean and has wide aisles and is well stocked. The fridges are new look and all have glass doors which is weird but makes sense in this hot country we live in! read more

There's always people around, but not like going into a supermarket at 5pm when everyone is at the checkouts. The selling point of this Woolworth's is as Tenniele said in her review, is the trading hours. My only problem is actually remembering they're open. I mean, how often have I decided after 6 that I want something from Woolies on the weekend? Often (on account of my love for snacks). And you know what? They're open until 7pm. But that's just weekends. Weekdays they're until 10pm. TEN PEE EM! That's fantastic. Also the staff aren't intrusive, and it's a good sized Woolies so it has everything you need. Parking isn't difficult and it's not overcrowded. All in all a good woolies. I suppose the only thing that has stopped me from making it a 5 start shop is the fact that the staff aren't fantastic. They're not bad either though. So you know, if you're around near the airport I'd definitely make it your grocery store!

That said, it is quite a large store, so they probably have whatever you need. The absolute best thing about this Woolies is its opening hours. Toombul Coles closes 9pm weekdays, 5pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday. A mighty bummer when you need something and didn't get to the shop earlier! No worries! Zoom out to 'Skygate', 'DFO', whatever you wanna call it, and Woolies is there for you. 24 hours! I'll admit, it's a bit out of the way, but it's not really that far. Watch the signs though, it's easy to end up in the wrong lane and on your way out to the airport, the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast.

I took my parents to Sunlit Asian Supermarket (Aspley Hypermarket) for lunch today…read more I'd never been here before but there were so many Asian people queuing we figured it must be good. My Dad is a brittle diabetic and so we were interested in a protein rich low carb offerings. I asked for a serving of crispy roast pork and a plate of boneless roast duck. Both were delicious and very filling.

Great new Asian supermarket at Aspley. They have a fabulous range including fresh veggies. As a family run business, the service reflects this. It's not too much trouble, as other Yelpers have mentioned, for the team to help you carry your shopping to the car. You get a choice of bag or box and there's a small section at the front of the store perfect for stocking up on slightly blemished produce for smoothies or juice. I most recently bought a bag of pineapples for $5 that have been well used in smoothies this week and even a chicken dish for dinner. There's also a small area for organic and gluten free flours, coconut oils, yoghurts, cheeses etc. All in all Charlie's is a one-stop shop and great for a weekly produce shop or for the one-off "I've run out of..." type of stop in. If you're not keen on driving to Everton Park, they also have online ordering with a flat $5 delivery.
I'm so glad I was able to try Charlie's while visiting Brisbane! My sister got me excited to try…read moretheir vegan delicacies, as well as browse their vast fruit selection. After being on the road traveling for close to two months, I had gotten used to eating what was cheap and convenient, not taking nutrition into consideration most of the time, so I was craving some colors in my diet. Charlie's had a few fruits I'd never seen before, one of which was a Jackfruit, cut open and on display. Also available were coconuts, passion fruit, pineapples and other tropical deliciousness. There's a small selection of dairy-free cheeses, yoghurts and ice creams, as well as other vegan food options. We decided to get something to snack on from the cafe section. I chose a falafel which, after reading another user's review, I realize I should have asked if they were made that morning because it was cold (which I wasn't expecting) as well as soggy. Unless it was freshly made, I wouldn't recommend it. My sister ordered the banana "nice-cream," which was sinfully creamy and somehow still 100% dairy-free. Even the chocolate drizzle on top fooled me! We also got a few of their smoothies, all of which had the option of being organic (for an extra charge) or regular. Overall, it was a fairly pricey but deliciously healthy mini meal. There's a lot of hype to this place but I think it's well-deserved - worth a visit!
So fresh and delicious!

There was only one line open and the checkout lady told me they don't take MasterCard?! I was perplexed as I have never heard of a merchant facility in Australia that takes visa but not MasterCard. Luckily I had a personal visa card but no pin. So we had to split the bill up into multiple sales to keep it under the $100 limit. By now the line is getting backed up and all the other customers are looking at me like I'm an idiot. As we are finally finishing the transactions I have a closer look at the machine and it clearly says MasterCard so I read it to her. She apologised but now I have to go home and spend an hour doing an expense report and paperwork to reimburse my personal card and track the cost through the business account. Not worth the savings
