The space is nicely laid out and the staff are knowledgable and helpful when it comes to best sellers or good food pairings. They are a swell place to go to if you are a wine buff, from a huge range of reds and whites to $250 french champagne. I guess that's why it's a superstore. The prices are by far cheaper than the other BWS' around the corner and your other local booze shops, and they are open a little later than most as well. I go here when i need a special bottle of wine as a gift or beer for my husband. They have quite a big selection here, and you can pretty find any brand of wine you are looking for. They have a chiller for wine's in the front past the checkouts as well. They are enviromental friendly, don't give you plastic bags, but have old boxes you can carry your guilty pleasure out in, i'm a big fan of this. They aren't big on service because the store is huge and there aren't that many staff around... but they are where you should go to get your liquor.

These guys remind me of the butchers of old (yes I'm old to). They open the door for you, genuinely talk with you about.....anything really. Carry your meat to the car (which helps with screaming kids) and always remember who you are. The meat itself is amazing. My partner is a raving hippy so for her it has to be 'organic'. Me, I don't care, as long as its red, dead and juicy I'll eat it. But the different sorts of cuts and marinates really spices up our barbies and makes 'us' look like 5 star chefs! Mmmmm....meeeeeat.

North lakes can be a bit of a maze to most (myself included) but Meatland is luckily not far from one of the Motorway exits. It is within eye shot of costco and bunnings. Parking is off road in a carpark at the front of the store. The shop area is much smaller than other wholesale butchers but stocks a large variety. I was impressed with the quality and the prices were fantastic, much more reasonable than the supermarkets. Today i picked up chicken breasts for 8.99/kg, and have previously been buying them in a supermarket for 14.99/kg. There was also a large variety of sausages to pick from and they stocked boerwors for those South African expats living in Brisbane. They had a mix of grain fed beef and also grass fed beef for those paleo people like myself. One tip when visiting this store is to bring your own jumper or jacket, and if you forget you can grab a quick $2 coffee or hot chocolate from the till area. Staff are friendly and enthusiastic about discussing cooking methods and recipes.

Guests included a mixture of 20 somethings up to mature age, so I needed a variety of drinks. They helped me pick the champagne, the red, the lolly drinks and the hard stuff.
