Sure, the beer selection is rather limited, but as I suggested, that is to be expected. However, I did find the service to actually be pretty good, and the pub to have a nice, warm, and friendly atmosphere. Oh, and the bistro itself is also pretty cool as well, so I'll definitely be giving it points for that.

The main bar is cozy, clean, and bright, complimented with an open fire, and hot complimentary food at the bar. The bistro/restaurant are both clean and pleasant, staff are young but very nice and prompt. Friend and myself are riding motorcycles this weekend, and as we treat our bikes like babies, we have been given the bothleshop's storage shed for their keeping overnight. Locked and alarmed, happy little Suzukis! My room is a single bed, wardrobe, side drawers and a cute dressing table. Wall mounted TV and electric blanket, I'm happy. The room has high ceiling with beautiful cornicing and ceiling rose detail, but I can't reach the aircon to turn it on. My room is right beside the ladies bathroom, and the shower is HOT, only wish they had more hooks inside shower cubicle, to hang clothes. For the princely sum of $40, for bed, and $24 for dinner, not expensive, but comfy.

However, the town, and in turn the pub, basically try's play up its heritage value, and you certainly notice that with the pub. The service was pretty good actually, and the atmosphere rather nice and relaxing. There was also a pretty large beer garden out the back as well, though not doubt that is more for dining, if the huge no-smoking sign is anything to go by. I guess the one gripe that I did have was the lack of beers on tap, or at least beer options, but that is something that I have sort of come to expect from country pubs.

Chicken covered in hollandaise sauce with a side of bacon, and some avocado tossed in with the green salad - definitely a win. I liked it for being a bit different and also a lighter option to regular pub food. The servings are generous, I couldn't finish all of my dish! But of course, that didn't deter me from trying some of their chips ... which are to die for! The menu isn't huge, but has a couple of good steaks as well as chicken, squid and prawn dishes -those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head! You pay standard pub prices for the meals - I remember one of the steaks costing around $30. The wine list also is on the smaller side, but then again, this is a small pub. They offer local wines such as Di Giorgio and other SA choices, e.g. Bird in Hand, which I find quite appealing. The prices are reasonable too, nothing to complain about! It's worth noting that this is a family-friendly hotel. It is both pokie and smoke free, and there is spacious lawn behind the patio for kids to run wild. If you're in the area, or travelling through, I suggest a visit. Classic small, country pub. Decent prices and a good feed.
