This is a café in the upper balcony area of the historic Cardiff Market. An old Victorian building that remains a good source of produce from local traders. As you enter the market you will be greeted by the same smell of fresh fish that has filled my childhood memories of this place.
Woody's café do great greasy spoon grub. I recommend the eggs on toast. I know it's just eggs and toast, but still, it was better than my usual efforts. Plus it's dirt cheap. Sitting in the old Cardiff Market with some egg on toast, reading the paper and watching the hive of activity all happening below you makes it a welcome break from your usual high street shopping and eating experience. The Cardiff Market seems a world away from the likes of St. Mary's Street, Queen Street, and St. David's 2, and it's the atmosphere that does this. read more
