We hired The Wood Shop to install 6 Pella bedroom windows and 1 Pella bathroom window. The total job cost $7050. We gave Randy Mitchell a check for $3000 and signed the contract September 11, 2019. The check was cashed immediately. Pella processed the order September 19, 2019. Initially the job was to start at the BEGINNING of November. We sent SEVERAL text messages and made phone calls (which were completely ignored). FINALLY after promising the work would be done WAY before the holidays, Randy texts on Monday, November 25th that his men will be here between 10 & 11am. Then he said the stain on the windows was still wet so they would be here around 1pm. They showed up at 3pm and the windows were spotty and practically bare of stain and some spots WERE bare! They said they wanted to "store" the windows in our garage until the following day. We refused. The windows were no where near the MAPLE stain we requested. They took the windows back and stained them a DARK CHERRY!! Randy texted the next day saying they were getting done staining the windows and wanted to come WEDNESDAY -THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING to install! THERE WERE 60 MPH WINDS THAT DAY! He didn't care - said he planned on doing ALL the windows! (He wanted the rest if the money). WE insisted on doing only the windows at the back of the house and do the 2 in front on Friday, the day AFTER Thanksgiving When winds had died down. Randy said his guys were off Friday so they HAD to finish the job. We REITERATED- to Randy AND his men- absolutely no front windows be done. As it turned out his guys ran out of time even if they wanted to do the front. BUT they started to take our 7 yr old's bedroom window apart and left rusted nails hanging out!! The REAL kicker was the bathroom window. I wanted it white! Look at the paint job that this company did!! Can you say FROG TAPE??!! And Randy Mitchell runs a company like this without checking the work?? I paid $1050 for the bathroom window to look like THIS??!! I would give them ZERO stars! Not to mention- the FINAL payment was to be made out to RANDY MITCHELL personally- NOT his company THE WOOD SHOP! SHADY FOR SURE! read more
