You can also sit on the ledges below the moon and stars lighting as you can see in my pics. This is one fun library! They have 3D printing and button making for free on the daily!! There was a game by the kid section of the library and there was a sticker station (not sure if this is offered on the daily). The 3d printing allows you to make miniature toys and learn how to design your 3d art. There is a two hour limit on the 3d printing. Very enjoyable!

I don't know how much of a reflection it is on the centre since its seasonal work, but they probably had the best and most mature camp leaders they've had ever. Aside from that, a really nice facility with a very large pool and a fun big waterslide. I used the workout area one day, and though it wasn't massive, it was pretty good and I especially liked that they also had a number of fairly unique machines, such as self-propelling treadmills. But it wasn't just about the interior. Outside, there's a giant kids play structure, a splash pad, and even a small turf field - along with other things like basketball courts. They also have a covered area for a full sized rink, but it was useful during the summer camp as it was another activity area which being covered is a bonus during the summer heat. There's really nothing lacking here. FWIW, I did use the library once just for my own reading once. Nothing special about it, but nice enough and it wasn't as chaotic as others described. Hopefully they got better at managing noise since the last reviews.

Swimming lessons, party space rentals, practically any sport you can think of, a gym, and free equipment outside like a playground, basketball area, soccer field, e.t.c. The prices are dirt cheap, the library has free computers and nintendo switches for use, community events are hosted every day of the week, and during seasonal holidays they put up decoractions and have activities scattered around the place. I vividly remember the day before halloween where I entered the inflatable corn maze with my friends, thrashing around in there until the maze was noticeably shaking from the outside and we were asked to leave. Then we did it again a few hours later after visiting other activities and, most importantly, after the employees switched shifts. Gore has a snack bar which I've bought countless jamaican patties from, I've had a birthday party here, and I could never imagine my life without this place. The people who run it are innovative and kind, doing things like lighting up the basketball courts outside until 11pm, just because they know people play there. I visited on the 2nd day of opening and the trees by the entrance weren't planted yet and there were 2-3 staff members at the front. Self checkout wasn't working yet. There is plenty of parking space outside. There are also two EV charging stations for the environmentally conscious. The only annoying thing about driving was that the entrance faces double-yellow lines, so you can only turn in (and out) going west. The inside of the library is really nice, with high ceilings and lots of windows that let in natural light. I noticed the start of a coffee bar, which should be a nice addition. There are tons of stocked shelves, but also quite a number that are still empty. There are many comfortable chairs throughout the library, including a few C-shaped chairs outside the children's books section. In the middle of the library is an outdoor courtyard to enjoy during the sunny summer months. One of the nice features of the library are the numerous semi-private rooms. The rooms are encased in see-through colored glass, so you can see if they're occupied. There's also a computer lab with small form factor HP desktops. For those with their own mobile devices or laptops, free wifi is also available.

Never mind the vast library of video games, Blu-Rays, audiobooks, this place has it all. I love that they even have exercise bikes set up so you can get a workout in while you read. Like what?? I've got to say, I was very impressed with the nice and relaxing vibe this place gave off. This library is pretty great compared to the other libraries in the area. It's right across the street from Emily Carr Secondary School, but it's certainly not just for high school students. There are two giant floors - a lot of children and families on the bottom and a lot of high school/college/university students on the top. The reason for this is because the entire top floor is a silent study zone! Such an awesome place that gets you in the mood to actually read and write. The tables and cubicles have outlets attached, which is obviously convenient if you use your laptop, smart phone, or any other electronic device to study. The couches are super comfortable as well. They've also got some nice rooms with white boards available for booking if you are coming in with a group. In terms of the general library stuff, this place has a wide range of DVDs, books, magazines, and a computer and printing station. I'll certainly make my way back here sometime soon! Given its size, it is VERY well run, and provides just about all the services you'll need on any given day at the library. The recommended offerings on display are very well organized and rotated regularly. I love that I can just about always find something interesting to take with me in addition to - or instead of - anything else I came by for. There are several areas to use, depending on your needs - from a quiet chair in a corner, to a desktop workstation, to a study room, to the large activity rooms used for programming. Speaking of programming, there are all kinds of movie nights, special help sessions e.g. retirement planning, how to upgrade your literacy and digital literacy skills, etc. My favourite is the book chat held on the last Wednesday of every month. These books are reserved for monthly discussion and you get your loan for the period to coincide with the chat. You don't have to sign up and it's always a treat to participate in the well facilitated discussions - as much or as little a you like, no pressure here. One of my other favourite services is how easy it is to borrow items you want with the reserve/pickup system. I can request my items and when I'm ready (and they're ready for you), all you have to do is breeze in, collect them from the shelf with your number on them, and use the automatic checkout. So fast and convenient! Kudos to the staff here - knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. Best resource in the neighbourhood.

Likely due to the amalgamation in the late 90's, the Toronto Public Library couldn't have two reference libraries. The Toronto Reference Library retained its name. This one changed its name to North York Central Library. I don't recall when the North York City Centre subway station changed its name to North York Centre. I remember frequenting Coles and the food court back then. I should go back. I'm sure everything looks and is different. I like this library a lot. It's spacious. If you need a place to quietly read a book or study, there were plenty of tables and chairs to do it. It's still the case to this day. It's a popular place for students to visit, do research, and study. I like that there are lots of floors to spread out. There were seven when I was last there. This library went through major renovations back in 2017. Three floors were affected. This section was reopened a year later. These days, it has auditorium, a Braille writer, magnifiers, and wheelchair-accessible furniture. It also has wifi. I always liked the DVDs, CDs, and other media formats. This library had the best selection. I miss having a Toronto library card. Back then, I used to live in Toronto before I moved to Markham with my parents. I then studied in Toronto, so having a library card was free. I neither work nor live in Toronto. I refuse to shell out money for a Toronto library card. Instead, I'm content with my Markham, Mississauga, and Brampton ones. (43)

Ventilation is good. The spaciousness kind of dampens the sound, like a vacuum lol. It was so incredibly quiet. Like I saw people's mouths moving, having conversations, but no sound. It had to be one of the best study sessions I've had. Even though I didn't come here to read, the shelves were so neatly organized. I liked that each shelf had one featured book on display. And I loved the long wooden tables with short lamps, kind of an ode old campus libraries. One thing I appreciate is the amount and variety of study space provided. Every spot is equipped with power outlets like a priority. Very study-oriented. Location-wise, the fact that it's next to Promenade Mall means food & drink is conveniently nearby, and you can return to resume studies. I'm not from this area; I've been kind of library-hopping recently lol; but this library definitely left a good impression and I would come back here if the chance arises.

Bathurst Clark Resource Library is located right behind Promenade Mall…read more Suburbs' libraries can be really boring especially in the newer subdivisions because I have to say Bathurst Clark Library really lacks any architectural value as a building itself. The inside though is quite nice.. high ceiling.. 2 storeys high.. really open and spacious. There are also some curious love seats... on the right hand side when you enter.. really popular with teenagers. Those have really heavy padded cushions, looks so comfy! I am not that lucky to have one of those lover's seats. However, there are tons of communal tables that have individual study lamps and power bars all wired underneath the tables.. that makes my search for power for my laptop really effortless! WIFI connection is stable and fast. If you do need to use their public computers, a library card is required to sign in. Vaughan's Public Library is the only libraries I been to that has computer terminals that are equipped with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Atmosphere here is more formal.. everyone are whispering and there are no kids running around! :)

One time I was walking to Yorkwoods Library. I saw a small group of teens wearing school uniforms…read morefooling around outside the Yorkwoods Threater. I passed amongst them when they sort of surrounding me. I looked down & ignored them when I heard some racial slurs targeting me. Out of the blue, I felt that some of these teenagers were throwing rocks at me. I walked faster into the Library when they continued throwing rocks at me. When inside, I immediately told this Yorkwoods staff at the front counter what just happened. This staff named ''Jay'' did not care much & simply told me to report the incident to another staff. She refused to call the police as I requested. I called the police using a payphone. Of course, our Toronto Police Service also acting quite indifferent & rountine & they would not say how long they could send in police officers on site. I said I would wait as long as I could. Going back inside Yorkwoods Library, found the staff person eventually to file the incident report. Then nothing as if this was something they experience multiple times EVERY DAY & THIS WAS NORMAL!! I was not even given a copy of this ''incident report'' even after I asked for it multiple times. After about 90 minutes doing what I needed to do, the police still no where in sight. I left. Then I somehow found out later that the police finally showed up many hours later (THEY EXPECT WE WOULD WAIT FOR THEM FOR HALF A DAY TO TELL THEM THE SAME THING I DID TO 911!) Apparantly they left because I was not there AND NO YORKWOODS STAFF BOTHERED TO TELL THESE POLICE TO CONTACT ME AT HOME AS I REQUESTED WHEN I FILED THE INCIDENT REPORT WITH THIS LIBRARY & WHEN I LEFT!!!!!) WHAT AN INDIFFERENT & NO HELP ATTITUDE WITH OUR PUBLIC LIBRARY STAFF & THE TORONTO POLICE ( MY CONCLUSION IS BASED ON NOT A SINGLE INCIDENT BUT ON SO MANY OUT OF MY PERSONAL EXPERENCE FOR DECADES)
