Some of my favorite things I've boughten in my entire life are from the Wishing Well. No exaggeration. I'm obsessed with my bird bath, typewriter, antique snack bowl & wall art. There are just the few of many things we've picked up there.... =) The prices are great. They even often have sections with free stuff. I always stop here first before I even go to Goodwill or St Vincent's De Paul, when I'm looking for something used and chances are they have it. For weeks I was searching the Thrift Stores for a nice book shelf & then I went into the Wishing Well & found a huge, sturdy one for only $15. I'm also convinced it's perfect for anyone looking for rustic items for a Wedding or looking to decorate a house. (PERFECT place for a housewarming gift!) I've saved the best for last......CANDY. They have theeee best candy. It's ridiculous how much people will pay for a candy bar at the Gas Station, when you can get so much more at Wishing Well.....and better quality too. So, the problems started with terrible communication before we ven stepped foot into the door. I called, and called for 2 hours. No one mans there phone system, or lets say there is NO phone system. I was literally in tears, as we were hostiung a family dinner that was being catered. The caterers and I stodd outside, waiting and waiting. Finally after two hours someone called me back with a new code. Cimmunication is non existent, and I have asked them twice since our departure to have a management person call me, so I could address these problems verbally, rather than writing a negative review for them. . I tried emailing them twice after they kept asking for me to review them and the house..and no one has gotten back to me.. I never write reviews, but 7400 dollars for three nights. and no response, I need to warn other families.. Because it was our daughters wedding, I decided to splurge, and it was not easy to do so.. I had high expectations, And were very disappointed. Upon entering, the house smelled horrible, the entire place smelled of dust ad dirt, and very unpleasant. The caterers started to light the oven, upon opening the oven, it was FILTHY, looked like it hadnt been cleaned it 5 years. It was horrible to warm up our lovely food under these conditions. When we opened the cabinets to bring out glassware, there were dead flies and insects all over. The very very bad smells continued all over the upstairs too. There were old dirty wet towels in one of the showers. There was a mans pair of shoes saturated in DOG POO sitting outside the third floor balcony. Which was really gross to have to deal with . Very bad value for funds spent. WE are Wisconsin people and come and rent houses frequently in Door County, and have never had am experience like this.

The interior of the store is pretty crowded. It's not the kind of store you want kids to be wandering around since there are some breakable items. One of the favorite things they have, which my wife likes, are these long sleep T-shirts that have moose and bear themes with silly headings like "Bear Hug" or "Moose Be Bedtime". I always get a shirt there for my wife. As for the guys, they have an assortment of boxer shorts for bedtime. The best my wife could do was a picture of a skunk on back of the shorts that reads "It wasn't me." There are some stuffed animals and décor items too. I've come to like seeing this place each time we do Eagle River. The owner is an older gentleman who always has a smile on his face and tells jokes to you as you're coming up to pay at the front counter. He's a real nice guy and another reason I like going in this place each year, which is why I always tell him, "See you same time next year".
