Their homemade sausage and boudin are always in my bag. The burger is the ultimate "old school" find; it's got that perfect flavor that only comes from a seasoned grill and fresh fries. I asked him where he go this from he told me Jensen Supermarket. I found it on yelp but had no reviews but had the address and thats what I needed. I go to jensen its on the north side of town around 59 area. The building looks better on the outside then on the inside. When we got there my chick was mad thought I found the wrong place. Inside it looks like a large version of a corner store. By that I mean its looks old and not updated at all, shelf's look like they have been there since the 1980s and never changed. Well I only came for one thing and that is sausage right! so I go around to the back look at the meat area first I see Chapel Hill, Im like the chick is gonna kill me. but then I ask the butcher about sausage and he says in the glass case at the end. They have several different sausage to buy, hot, mild, Cajun, and they have boudan both spicy and mild versions of it. I got me 2 rings of hot sausage (think how chapel hill comes if you dont know what a ring is) and one link of boudan. Took them home and put them on the smoker and smoked them for about 30+ mins at a pretty high temp for a smoker. Came out great I actualy had some sausage left in the morning and ate it I thought it was even better on the reheat. The boudan was good too, I smoked it like the sausage, it was spicy full of flavor I put it on some carr's water crackers. I got what I wanted out of that trip and will be back. So go here this summer for your next BBQ and get the sausage I cant say anything on the other meats but they looked ok. It is worth the trip.

They have weekly deal that are too die for I just don't recommend going to the courtesy booth for their ATM because for wtihdrawl is a high fee plus a fee from your bank in its not even a ATM machine. You give your card to the clerk lady punch in your pin in she hands you the money. So why the high fee. Other than that its OK so expect a neighborhood price store.

I rounded up to 4 stars based on value alone. In my quest to find the greatest burger in the…read moreHouston area, I ran across this apparently Asian-owned, hidden gem while searching through Yelp listings near my work. I've heard of burgers at car washes but never burgers at a grocery store/laundromat. Yep, they own the laundromat next door too. I came mainly for the burger and jalapeno poppers, but sadly they no longer have the latter, not enough people ordered them. I simply ordered a burger basket with onion rings instead of fries, big mistake! The onion ring breading was so rock hard, it hurts my mouth when I tried to bite into them. The burger weighs in at about 1/3 pound and is pressed very thin. It resembles and tastes nearly identical to Whataburger, with exception of one important thing, they use fresh ground beef here. No surprise a lot of Yelpers mention Whataburger in their reviews. My patty was cooked medium, but they don't ask how you want it cooked. The burger normally comes with toasted bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard and mayo. I added sliced, pickled jalapenos for free at the suggestion of the lady taking my order. I also added a 500 mL Mexican Coke and the total came out to about $7. They also use American cheese, so I skipped that. As compared to Hippo burger, which I had to pass just to get here, I like the buns here more, since they hold up well. However, Hippo has a more flavorful beef patty, and it's thick which is my preference. Average service when placing my order, but the man at the cash register was very friendly and seemed like one of the owners. They don't have anywhere to sit down inside, so its definitely to-go only. Next time I come back, I'll try a double burger with fries.

They grow microgreens for some of the restaurants around the heights, and have "pick your own" vegetables where you walk down the crop rows and you can hand pick out which veggies you want to buy and then the owner cuts them fresh from the plant for you! They said everything was Organic as well! They also have greenhouses with some weird specialty plants that I haven't seen for sale anywhere else in town, including Buchannan's. One of the greenhouses is a mini cactus botanical garden with all of the plants identified, and there were some really cool cactus in there I've never seen before. I bought some fresh Cilantro and some Thai Peppers to make fajitas with tonight, and a little succulent for my wife! Definitely will be looking more plants here in the future.
