Glorious summer night in Asbury with a battle of the bands between the Wonder Bar sound check and the 80's cover band across the street at AP Rooftop. We loved the drinks, the burger, the wait staff, the picnic tables and the fried pickles. Stayed for the sunset and the dogs at Yappy Hour. It doesn't get better than this. Thank you Wonder Bar for the atmosphere and the joy.

Wonder Bar is an Asbury Park institution! Some of the best burgers in town, with great vegetarian options as well. Bartenders are super friendly, and the mixed drinks are refreshing, especially when you're enjoying them around the little tiki hut outside! There are always excellent bands playing here on any given night, with different types of music to suit anyone's taste. But my personal favorite thing about Wonder Bar is YAPPY HOUR!! This is fun and very well-run event that takes place several times a week during the summer, that both dogs and their people can enjoy. Plenty of room for the doggies to run around and play, and even little pools for them to dip into, while the humans can enjoy a nice, cold beverage from the tiki hut. Debbie does a fantastic job organizing such a fun time for all the pooches and patrons alike, while keeping *safety* a first priority. There are "doggy bouncers" to make sure all the pups are on their best behavior (very rarely any issues) and while kids aren't allowed inside because it's a bar, they can still peer over the fence and enjoy watching the pups run around. You also need a dog (or come with someone who has a dog) to get into Yappy Hour, which is MORE than fair! There are always dog parks if you want to just be a spectator! Safety is always 1st priority here, and that's one of many reasons why Yappy Hour at Wonder Bar is so successful. My CavaPoo, Noodles, and I love coming here, and we both adore Debbie and her wonderful, caring staff! (Especially Rico! He is a gem!) Hope Yappy Hour will continue for many years to come.

It was a Wednesday night on the Jersey Shore in winter. We wanted music. That's a hard get Wednesday in winter, but the Wonder Bar had something they labeled "School of Rock," in which students from a music school would perform a couple of numbers. Some of the bands were okay. Some of the bands stunk. Who cared? The drinks were reasonable, the bartenders cheeky, and it was something to do on a Wednesday night in winter on the Jersey Shore.

Nothing like a cold one on a hot day!

Cool , I was gonna say "little " but it actually isn't! It's actually pretty big inside, still a dive bar tho! Cool first stop before hitting the beach. We stopped here bc it was raining and they closed the beach down. Glad we stopped here Had a few beers Shooting the breeze Killing time... Didn't really try anything but fried pickles and they were great! Nice and hot This bar showcases bands! There is a stage , standing room and tables. I'm Sure it is cool when it's all set up! And I peeked at the case where they had some of NJ finest performers of all time, like THE BOSS himself! Also seen pics of the sexy Axl Rose Man...the 80's was so cool, I miss that decade.... I digress.... Clean restrooms, decent service, dive bar, good enough for me! Don't let the big clowns outside scare you This is actually a cool spot

This place has been our go-to for more than 2 years through the Pandemic. But today at the start of the season my chicken sandwich came out with a very sad amount of fries. So much smaller than I remember for last 2 years. The California chicken sandwich and the Asbury Park IPA, (something-dragon) is what I get all the time and the sandwich is very good with a great spice blend My wife gets the veggie burger and son gets the grilled cheese. The cheese on the veggie burger was barely warm today, but she normally likes it. We'll be back to see if it gets any better and feels like it did last year.

Stopped by here for some food and drinks. The menu includes typical bar food. I had the Wonder Burger and we shared fried pickles. My burger was cooked perfectly and the fried pickles were really tasty. The bar itself was big and spacious. I would definitely return.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

The tuna tartar tasted fresh, and I liked that the tuna was in chunks rather than minced. It came on a bed of rice and avocado and was served with fried wonton skins. There was also a sweet sauce drizzled over it (like eel sauce), which I didn't really think was necessary, but it was okay. I enjoyed my lobster very much, although I was surprised to see that there was roe in it (which I thought was forbidden from an eco standpoint). My husband liked his sea bass, but he struggled with the oysters since none of them were properly shucked (he had to take a knife to them to properly remove them from their shells). That was pretty disappointing for a seafood restaurant. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Overall not a bad experience but there is definitely some room for improvement.

It is not a scene that stirs the soul or quiets the mind, but it is fine for staring at when there is nothing else to do. I came for lunch on a weekend, early enough to avoid the mob that usually descends later in the day. Getting a table was easy. Finding a parking space was not. It is always the same story there, a little game of musical bumper cars. When I made it inside, I found the tables to be sticky in the way that suggests they had been wiped down but not really cleaned. The servers moved with the slow grace of people who had already given up on the afternoon. They were not rude, just absent in spirit. I ordered the fried oysters because it seemed like something they ought to do well. They were fine, in the way that lukewarm applause is fine. Not offensive, not memorable. The breading was heavy, the flavor lost somewhere between the fryer and the plate. For the price, one expects a little magic, or at least a spark of care. Neither arrived. Klein's feels like a place living off its own legend, a faded postcard from better days. People go because they have always gone. The fish is there, the view is there, but the heart of it seems to have gone missing. It is not terrible, but it is not worth the time or the money either. Three stars, mostly for nostalgia.

Because the first time my wife and I went here we were literally in the parking lot and weren't sure we were there. It's nestled in a residential neighborhood within Sunset Harbor Marina. An actual,,, well you know. This is a must go to place. They offer happy hour daily, all day Thursday. Reduced drinks and a really good happy hour food selection. Additionally, they have an extensive menu which features, seafood, steaks, pasta and burgers. On this occasion we went for the happy hour menu. Added bonus: trivia night. My wife and I are avid trivia participants and this one is pretty good if you're so inclined. Drink wise my wife went with her go to favorite, the Lemon Elderflower Gin Spritz which she proclaims is The Best Drink Ever! As a rum fan I grabbed a few Sunset Punches. A solid rum punch, not the best in Patchogue but good nonetheless. We ordered food from the happy hour menu. Shrimp corn chowder soup. Awesome. Chicken fingers were top notch. Antonio's baked clams were good. They are diced clams, heavily breaded and a bit salty. If you're like me and enjoy clams I'd go with the Clams casino off the regular menu. The atmosphere here is spectacular! Vacation atmosphere right here at home. Great vibe, friendly crowd. By the way, it's called Sunset Harbor for a reason. The sunset view here is spectacular! Open Thursday through Sunday. Live music each day. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. But, leave 2 seats at the bar. Ok?!
