Went here to have an early dinner before attending a concert on 8/29/26. I think this place is pretty good - ordering at the bar counter, provide your table number, and they will deliver it to you. The servers are nice and the service was pretty decent. We ordered sweet chili wings, chili cheese hotdog, and their nachos. We specifically ordered their nachos because it has chili. We were pleased with the food and although quite junky, it was much needed before attending a high energy concert. There was a performance that day and they have a stage on a corner. I feel that the floor itself is spacious to give people a chance to dance. read more

Wonder Bar - Tiki Bars Near Me - Asbury Park, New Jersey

We waited, standing, for over an hour to see Double Duran, general admission, and they never came on. It was an hour after the show was supposed to start and the band members were greeting some people in the crowd. Hey, how about starting the show?? Too crowded to get a drink. Ended up leaving without seeing the band. Very disappointing. Wasted over $50 to see the band, what a waste. read more

After doing some research, it seems that the 1 star reviewers of Wonder Bar are primarily upset that you are not allowed to bring in your children. It seems Wonder Bar has a policy that no one under 21 is allowed in the bar, a policy that I think is more than fair and I think pretty standard when it comes to bars and club atmospheres. There's plenty of other places that cater to children? Confused about this. I had an absolutely fabulous time out on the Wonder Bar patio. We stopped in pre-music festival and were helped by an incredibly kind and smiley bartender. A band had started playing, vibes were high, and the weather was perfect. I love how quirky it is and you can tell it's an institution for a reason. I opted for a standard vodka soda and was happy to see they use Tito's for a fairly reasonable price. I love that they have yappy hours and are super dog friendly as well! I look forward to heading back here anytime I am in Asbury Park! Thanks for the great experience. read more

Perfect bar to pop into and located right near the beach! We went on a Saturday and it wasn't that packed. Sad to hear they are getting rid of the pup area. Pop in for a good time and a good drink! read more

Wonder Bar - Outside patio - Tiki Bars Near Me - Asbury Park, New Jersey

Great spot for live music just adjacent to the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Medium sized venue that does book some well known Jersey Shore acts as well as touring artists. Great outdoor bar and patio with dog park area and doggy happy hour promotions. Modest drink prices , a great spot to grab a drink read more

Be warned, they are NOT 420 friendly unlike many other music venues in Monmouth County. There is no reentry. So you better get your "hits" in before you enter the bar. If you light up anything other than a cigarette or cigar in their outdoor smoking area, you will be kindly asked to extinguish it. Some of the bartenders are not the friendleist folks in the world. Could take a while to get a drink, and it might come with an attitude. Other than that its a good place to hear live music. The foods not bad either. My $15 cheese burger was pretty good. Came with chips instead of fries though. Have to pay extra for fries. read more

Absolutely would not recommend for a concert!!! Attended to see a show without the knowledge of it being 21+ my daughters are so upset!! The young man on the phone was horribly rude as well and not helpful!!! Again would NOT recommend! read more

A fun place to see a show - plus the famous "Yappy Hour" where you can bring your dog(s).

The outdoor seating was nice. There is also live music. The bathrooms are very cramped but hey it's just a bar bathroom. Other then that IDs are checked at the door read more

Our son performed here with his bands for an 80s themed afternoon! What a great time. It's a great open lay out with good sight lines to the stage from everywhere. Chris also enjoyed the back stage area in between performances. read more

Glorious summer night in Asbury with a battle of the bands between the Wonder Bar sound check and the 80's cover band across the street at AP Rooftop. We loved the drinks, the burger, the wait staff, the picnic tables and the fried pickles. Stayed for the sunset and the dogs at Yappy Hour. It doesn't get better than this. Thank you Wonder Bar for the atmosphere and the joy. read more

Wonder Bar - Tiki Bars Near Me - Asbury Park, New Jersey

It was a Wednesday night on the Jersey Shore in winter. We wanted music. That's a hard get Wednesday in winter, but the Wonder Bar had something they labeled "School of Rock," in which students from a music school would perform a couple of numbers. Some of the bands were okay. Some of the bands stunk. Who cared? The drinks were reasonable, the bartenders cheeky, and it was something to do on a Wednesday night in winter on the Jersey Shore. read more

Wonder Bar is an Asbury Park institution! Some of the best burgers in town, with great vegetarian options as well. Bartenders are super friendly, and the mixed drinks are refreshing, especially when you're enjoying them around the little tiki hut outside! There are always excellent bands playing here on any given night, with different types of music to suit anyone's taste. But my personal favorite thing about Wonder Bar is YAPPY HOUR!! This is fun and very well-run event that takes place several times a week during the summer, that both dogs and their people can enjoy. Plenty of room for the doggies to run around and play, and even little pools for them to dip into, while the humans can enjoy a nice, cold beverage from the tiki hut. Debbie does a fantastic job organizing such a fun time for all the pooches and patrons alike, while keeping *safety* a first priority. There are "doggy bouncers" to make sure all the pups are on their best behavior (very rarely any issues) and while kids aren't allowed inside because it's a bar, they can still peer over the fence and enjoy watching the pups run around. You also need a dog (or come with someone who has a dog) to get into Yappy Hour, which is MORE than fair! There are always dog parks if you want to just be a spectator! Safety is always 1st priority here, and that's one of many reasons why Yappy Hour at Wonder Bar is so successful. My CavaPoo, Noodles, and I love coming here, and we both adore Debbie and her wonderful, caring staff! (Especially Rico! He is a gem!) Hope Yappy Hour will continue for many years to come. read more

When you're an institution like Wonder Bar, the little niceties such as food, service and crowd control are not critical. The burger was actually good, the pours generous and the music is bar band solid so a good time was has by all. I think guys named Vinnie get in free but I'm fairly certain that the Angie's of both persuasions will also get you a free wave through the turnstile. This is Jersey incarnate so wha u weighten four? Just tell 'em Angie sent you. An easy five stars. read more

Cool , I was gonna say "little " but it actually isn't! It's actually pretty big inside, still a dive bar tho! Cool first stop before hitting the beach. We stopped here bc it was raining and they closed the beach down. Glad we stopped here Had a few beers Shooting the breeze Killing time... Didn't really try anything but fried pickles and they were great! Nice and hot This bar showcases bands! There is a stage , standing room and tables. I'm Sure it is cool when it's all set up! And I peeked at the case where they had some of NJ finest performers of all time, like THE BOSS himself! Also seen pics of the sexy Axl Rose Man...the 80's was so cool, I miss that decade.... I digress.... Clean restrooms, decent service, dive bar, good enough for me! Don't let the big clowns outside scare you This is actually a cool spot read more

This place has been our go-to for more than 2 years through the Pandemic. But today at the start of the season my chicken sandwich came out with a very sad amount of fries. So much smaller than I remember for last 2 years. The California chicken sandwich and the Asbury Park IPA, (something-dragon) is what I get all the time and the sandwich is very good with a great spice blend My wife gets the veggie burger and son gets the grilled cheese. The cheese on the veggie burger was barely warm today, but she normally likes it. We'll be back to see if it gets any better and feels like it did last year. read more

Place looks very inviting till you get to the door. I was staying across the street and had gone to several other locations with my newborn, Wonder Bar was the first to tell me NJ law changed this year and no one under 21 was allowed in bars. Weird because every other location welcomed us. Seems like they may be an 16-20 year old hot spot trying not to get in trouble. I'm guessing the food is as good as the ownership, shitty. This is a 0 out of 5 stars, Yelp is too nice. read more

Excellent venue, great place to get a rum bucket and have a really good time seeing local talent. Can't speak to the quality of the food but it looked like they had standard bar faire. We absolutely love it here! Especially yappy hour, where you can bring your dogs! Yappy hour is an unbelievable experience, we've met people who have brought their dogs all the way from Manhattan, and all over New Jersey. The owners and the dogs all love it. Scout, the security representative is amazing. They are so good with the dogs, and gets to know each and every one. The food is amazing, we've tried a bunch of things off of the 'munchies' menu, and it was all fresh and really crisp. The cheese dip that came with our fries is "addicting" apparently. I absolutely loved the onion rings, maybe the best I've ever had! The happy hour deals are okay, my family was never really happy with our cocktails. Not too tasty, or that interesting. We typically go for wine and beer now that we know what's up. However I recently tried the rosè spritzer, which is muddled orange, rose and seltzer, and it may have been my favorite drink in town! It didnt taste too boozy, but the flavors were great! Love it here, we are definitely going to be regulars soon! read more

Wonder Bar - Onion rings and fries! "The cheese stuff is addicting" - Tiki Bars Near Me - Asbury Park, New Jersey

The burger is advertised, service friendly. You need to order food from the bar. A great place for a Sunday afternoon, off season.

Had the wonder bar burger. Can taste the grilled tastes. Was the taste of a 100 summers. Wings for app. Crispy not soggy. Bands playing. Loved the music. Gives that dive bar experience Excellent shore visit! read more

Just went in for a drink and a couple of appetizers. Guy behind the T-shirt stand told us to sit outside if we like but to order food from the bar but since it's off season we have to go back and forth to get it outside. Totally understandable. We order through very very slow service, even though it wasn't busy, and everyone behind the bar was just walking around aimlessly. We bring everything outside and then security walks by telling everyone they have to leave in 10 minutes because there's a show starting at 7 and they need to rehearse and don't want anyone there. We had food and drinks to chug so we can leave. Unprofessional read more

Well being a local and getting to to the Smithreens at the Wonder Bar.., I guess one can say my bad but we came early to get a seat. Keeping in mind, we have tickets to the show .. so came early and figured we would just have dinner here. And the horrendous food before the show even though we had Tickets booted us out.. so we all this horrible food come into hours later we can't even see the band. Talk about treating customers badly . Meanwhile, there's some people I let stay. It's actually one of my first shows at the Wunderbar and I've lived here in my whole life, but I'll never come back.. Warning to all, don't do it . read more

We stopped in today because it finally felt like Spring! I had never been but my girlfriend had been a few times. They had a good beer selection, I went with a Carton Boat draft and she got a Blue Moon. $13, I love beer but I still can't believe any 1 beer ever gets sold for more than $5, but it's Asbury so everything is overpriced. We happened to come during "Yappy Hour" and there were dogs everywhere, it was so cool! So many cute dogs. The area for dogs is completely separate and gated off so as to keep your dog inside and allow space for those without dogs as well. The bar in middle allows you to get drinks from either side and you can go back and forth if you have a wristband. There is a separate line for entry here. Overall, nice outdoor space for warm weather and the food I saw looked pretty good. Great spot if you have a dog and also want to go to the bar. read more

We are visiting New Jersey from California! Our condo looks directly down on the Wonder Bar. Curiosity got us to go in, because we heard great music and saw they entertain doggos!! Fun and lovely cocktails. Good prices. And the yappy hour with the dogs outside--so much fun to watch the dogs enjoy themselves and play.

Wonder bar seemed to be my type of place. A bit of welcomed attitude from the bartenders that was playful, but still a bit insulting. Not being offended at all, I knew this would be a fun place. Ordered a round of drinks and then roamed the property. Outside, was yappy hour. People, I think, bring their dogs to enjoy roaming free and sniffing other dog's butts. It could be possible that dogs just show up on their own... I don't know. We walked around and saw some dog bowls that mentioned vodka. Could these dogs be getting drunk too? Not sure, but wouldn't be surprised... Everyone seemed to be having a good time here. My only complaint was the women's room line. I did have to spend a bit of time waiting around while my wife navigated a long line. It wasn't even that crowded, so I would hate to see it when it was packed a band playing. read more

We were wandering around the boardwalk and then were trying to make our way to another bar but found this place and decided to stop in. I ordered the rose spritzer cocktail. It was ok but a little watered down. I wish they had a little more selection on the beer and drinks. The outside dog area was cool. People can bring their dogs and let them roam around in the gated area. They even set up water bowls for them. One thing that bothered me were the bathrooms. They only had 2 stalls and there was a line. One of the workers kind of had attitude and said we had to move around the other way cause we were going into the bands room. I wouldn't want to be here at night. Also the bathroom smelled like urine on the floor and there wasn't any soap. read more
