My grandfather purchased a house in twin falls from Wolverton homes. It was the worst decision he's ever made. Now he lives 2 hours away from his whole family. The real estate agent we worked with was super unprofessional and all he talked about was inappropriate things that normal agents wouldn't say ever. So I tried to ignore him the best I could but he was showing my gpa houses he didn't like. My grandpa wanted a new build but couldn't afford Boise prices so he was forced to move out there. I finally asked the realtor if he had any lots or new builds coming available, he said yes I think I have a smaller lot then drove us over to where he thought the house would be built! He had no idea what he was talking about, my gpa now lives at the end house but next to a vacant field they will never do anything eotj. It's a pretty big eye sore. Then they told him 6 months til it was completed and over 2 years passed and it wasn't finished yet. Then when he finally got to move in the grass, fence and master bathroom shower door weren't finished. When it started warming up they got the grass and fence put in pretty quickly but the shower door took months and Wolverton was supposed to install it but then my grandpa had to contact a different company to end up doing it, Wolverton said he'd cover the costs but then only paid 90% of it and left my grandpa with the remaining amount. This whole 2+ year period they were basically just playing games with him on his mortgage rate and purchase price. They would lock him in for 60-90 days but then that expired so his rates went up everytime they did this and now couldn't get approved on his own so my family had to put large down payments and co-sign on his morgate. Wolverton is awful in literally every aspect I can think of. The houses are built as cheap as possible and the sq footage on his house is not great, he can barely get two twin mattresses in the spare bedroom and he's lucky the door shuts. The best part about this whole experience was that since we found the realtor through realtor.com they were offering a cash back deal on like . 3% of the purchase price and it came directly out of his real estate agents pockets, it made my day when I saw that. I have been in my home since 2017. My home has stood the test of time. All warranty items were handled and I've only had minor homeowner wear and tear type things since. I would defiantly build with Wolverton again. read more

Building a home should be one of the most exciting things to experience in your entire life. I really wanted this to be everything I hoped for, unfortunately I had quite the opposite experience. Not only did my build take longer than a year to complete but the communication was simply non existent. To be honest I really didn't care about the timeline IF ONLY they would have communicated instead of getting my hopes up and then crushing them time and time again. Fast forward to being almost done with our build, multiple people tried bullying us to get out of our contract so they could sell it for more than our contract price. (Unfortunately this is a known thing, my neighbors also experienced this) Finally moving in we noticed nothing was fixed from our "blue tape walk through" so what's the point of doing that if it never even gets fixed? We have been in our home for about 10 months and it seems like the problems just don't stop. From major problems to mild, I just wished they simply cared. So many people warned us to not build with them and I wish I would have listened. Most of our neighborhood is all Wolverton homes and unfortunately they also do not have anything good to say either. If you want a low-quality built home. Look to Wolverton. After complaints to them about the floor being bouncy, they sent out a gentleman that complained about having to brace it. Stating that it meets spec's requirements. Things fall over even now when you walk past the kitchen island. Not to mention the several squeaks coming from the floors in several areas in the house. They cut corners in everything that they have put into this house. Last night in the middle of the night the bathroom mirror fell off the wall. It was put up with double stick tape that gave loose. After being away from the Magic Valley for a number of years and living all over the country, we decided to return to the Intermountain West as it's the best place we've lived. To put things in perspective we've moved 15 times in almost as many states and owned 9 homes both new and pre-owned in conjunction with the moves. I purchased a Wolverton home in Twin Falls that is 4 years old. I'm very particular about maintenance and upkeep and the home had been a rental. Needless to say I have had a fair amount of detail work to do. One of the things that drives me nuts is dings and dents in walls and woodwork. Although the house was in pretty good shape considering it's use, I needed to do a fair amount of patching and painting and unfortunately no attic stock (leftovers from construction) existed meaning no extra paint. I reached out to Wolverton for help and Jackie Metzger, Director of Operations, hooked me up with full specifications of my home. Thanks to her I was able to backtrack find the painter and source the original paint for a perfect color and sheen match. My pickiness has been soothed! What was amazing is that I'm not the original owner, but Jackie didn't care, she was super helpful and very prompt. If Wolverton (and Jackie) took this kind of care with me, you can rest assured you are dealing with a first class group of people. I have never been treated so well with any of my prior purchases. Several months ago I signed a Purchase and Sale Agreement with Wolverton Holmes LLC and paid the agreed upon earnest money. This was an "all-cash offer", with no financial contingencies. The contract was for new construction and permitted color selections and upgrades, which were to be finalized within ten days of signing. In attempting to meet with Trish (Wolverton Project Coordinator) on multiple occasions over the next four weeks I was informed she was too busy with scheduled closings. Thirty days after signing the Agreement, Jackie (Wolverton General Manager) began demanding a nonrefundable cash deposit for 100% of the agreed upon cost of the change orders, plus a thirty-day extension on closing "due to [MY!] failure to timely finalize the change orders" -- a company policy! Reluctantly, I agreed. Then, Jackie began demanding a non-refundable cash deposit for 10% of the house's total purchase price, because of the all-cash offer -- another company policy!  I was informed that Wolverton wanted to "ensure I had sufficient funds to close". Instead, over the next several weeks, I provided them a copy of the Deed to the home, which I owned 100%, and which I intended to sell to purchase this property. I also submitted a bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds. Neither of these documents were acceptable to Wolverton. Jackie continued harassing me for the nonrefundable cash deposit. I refused, furnishing instead a conventional loan  "Pre-Authorization Letter". Wolverton reluctantly accepted this document, but remained unsatisfied. After refusing their demands for the nonrefundable monies, Jackie became increasingly contentious, making more unreasonable demands and threats, to the point of becoming hostile and abusive. For example, Wolverton prepared multiple addendums to the Agreement, threatening to void the contract when I refused to sign them. I was prohibited from coming onto Wolverton property, warned I would be fined by doing so. This meant I was unable to inspect the quality of their construction work. I was told not to discuss the Agreement with any Wolverton employee under threat of legal action. Four times I tried to schedule a meeting with Jackie and Gary (Wolverton President) in an attempt to resolve these conflicts. Each time they refused to meet. In discussing matter with realtors, lenders and Wolverton competitors, they all found Wolverton's actions shocking and extremely unprofessional. They  encouraged me to get out of the Agreement quickly, with all my money, if possible. It seemed all Wolverton wanted was money, money, and more money!  I later learned that these bullying tactics are not unique to me, as evidenced by the complaints posted on this and other websites. Recognizing there would be no end to Wolverton's threats and Jackie's egregious misbehavior, I decided it was in my best interest to cancel the contract. Wolverton keeps re running a home for sale at 1790 sq ft $198,000 and does not indicate "LOT NOT INCLUDED" in price. When I called about this home, they said it was Trulia's and Zillows mistake. Has ran several times and they do not correct it. It is just a ploy to sucker you in to buy another home from them. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Wolverton while I was in the purchase process of my new home. My home is quality built with the integrity they advertise, however once you sign on that dotted line and take possession its a whole new story. They offer a one year warranty, but what good is that if they are too busy to honor it. I literally have been begging for a year to have things done that was pointed out during the final walk through. read more

I would absolutely recommend Wolverton Homes! They were easy to work with, upfront and honest about pricing, and timely. I never had a hard time getting a hold of someone at the office. They were always responsive and the customer service is outstanding! We've only had very minor issues and Wolverton has been great about honoring their 1-year warranty. I call, they send someone out quickly. No wait. No fuss. They were absolutely great. I'd totally build with them again and recommend everyone I know to them. read more
