An estimator, Jack, was out to our house several times to understand the job and get color matches. The work required was replacing trim around some new windows, painting these rooms with the windows, replacing some door opening trim, and a small drywall patch with paint match. Our expectations were discussed several times throughout the sales process and the job was clearly defined verbally. After waiting weeks for the scheduler to reach out, a project manager, Matt, finally showed up to our house to assess the job prior to the contractor arriving that same day. After taking a tour and discussing the job, Matt informed me that Five Star does not do carpentry work and that they could not complete the job as agreed upon. This was obviously quite frustrating, but we told Five Star we would pursue another contractor that could perform all of the work as discussed. Now Five Star is refusing to refund us our deposit because the deposit money was used to purchase the paint for the job (even though they are the party unable to perform the agreed contract). I would recommend searching for another company that can properly communicate and fulfill agreements.

All he would give me over the phone was Soil is $52/yard, Manure is $32/yard $50 delivery fee. Told me to expect official breakdown by end of day. Never received. I calculated the total cost based on the highest price he gave me. $52 x 5 yards + $50 delivery fee + 6% tax = $328.60 When asked where the additional cost ($221.40) came from he said "operational costs." When asked if he could explain that he said "taxes." Tuesday Quote: Free - so he can stop dealing with me. (All I did was call and request him to send over the breakdown he promised by end of day Friday and end of day Monday) He then proceeded to (again) verbally rip me a new one. During pre work discussion with Future Construction Manager we the customer were told four or more roofers would perform the work and it would take a 8 hour day to complete. The contractor quoted $2500.00. We the customer had two roofers (who hardly could speak English) work for two and a half hours and they never replaced a shingle. My wife called Future Construction and was told to repair shingles more than on shingle would need to be replaced. So no shingles were replaced. Future Construction decreased the cost by $200. Thus we the customers paid two roofers approximately $400/hour. It should have been reduced by more than $200. We were in the middle of a sale and did not have time to fight with Future Construction. They took advantage of the situation. We had Future Construction do other work and we were happy in the past but this time we got ripped off.
