He guided me through the entire process, which took over two years to complete. There was open communication and full transparency during the process. They even suggest that conditions such as disability, loss of income and pain and suffering due to improper medical attention are possible reasons for a medical malpractice suit. And, they will have your back. But, they apparently don't value you enough to sit down in-person to discuss your life-changing situation/case. Instead, from my experience, one is possibly going to be hurried through an over-the-phone only attempt to explain a condition of which they may (understandably) have little to no knowledge. They told me that if I can still walk, they would not take the case (despite my post-surgery condition causing daily pain, severely reduced mobility and loss of income). They offered that it would cost $50,000 dollars for them to attempt to process this non-death case. So, basically, what I understood from this (occasionally rude) conversation was...if no one is dead...we are not likely to want to assist you re: your post-surgery disability, pain and suffering and loss of income.

He's a braggart, his website states personal attention, responsive communication, fully informed & engaged, and he takes complicated cases. Essentially, I needed a trustworthy individual to function as my proxy to pick up an important document on my behalf and then mail it out overnight. I just moved from Chicago and my Chicago friends all work so no one was available to spare the round trip 3.5 hr train ride. So I was looking for a stranger that could help me out. I tried Task Rabbit and immediately got an offer that was ridiculously expensive since they would have to come from Chicago to do it. So I turned to Yelp to see if there were any reliable services I could find in Springfield, IL. There isn't much variety in Springfield, so I turned to the first law office I found which had a single 5-star rating. Mike Logan himself picked up the phone from the Law Offices of Mike Logan at 4:30 pm. After a 5 minute desperate explanation, he quickly understood my dilemma and without hesitation told me to detail in email/fax whatever I needed him to do and attach the necessary documents. Not only was I shocked that he fielded my call but that he stayed on the line with me. He could have easily interrupted me and told me that he only specializes in Bankruptcy Law. The very next day he calls me personally and tells me that the document was successfully picked up on my behalf and that he would be sending it overnight to the Medical Board of California as I described for him. His secretary then called me back to ask me for my personal mailing address so she could send me a copy of the document to me for my own records. Insane! I need to meet more people like Mike Logan and his staff. If I ever go bankrupt, I know who I'm calling first. If Mike was willing to help an out-of-stater on a favor requested over the phone having never met him, I can't imagine what he offers his clients in his area of expertise. P.S. I will be reimbursing Mike for overnight postage obviously. I offered to pay for his services and inconvenience but he never once discussed or negotiated for a particular fee. Maybe I'll be getting a fat invoice in the mail but certainly service and people like this are worth paying for. At least I know where to go if the fee does eventually bankrupt me.

I was literally uncomfortable (and perhaps a bit tipsy) on the bus ride home from imbibing a bit too much. Speaking of the bus ride, it does take some time to get there. However, if you are from out of town like I was, it was neat to see the farm lands that stretch on and on while on the ride. I didn't really see inside the building or much of the grounds, but the food is top notch. I would highly recommend this place to take a group to have a catered dinner and fun ambiance.
