The bridal suite and groomsmen's "man cave" were perfect for getting ready. And at the end of the night, the staff packed up all of our decor and belongings, making cleanup and departure a breeze. I just had to let you know. The atmosphere at your venue was simple, but beautiful. Everything was set up and ready when we arrived. The food was super yummy and I went for two helpings! Not to mention two helpings of dessert as well! I was most impressed with the staff who waited on us. They were so very attentive, especially to the bride-to-be. I wish I had asked for their names as they were on-point during our whole event. Every drink was filled and refilled, the food station was carefully watched to keep it neat, and they even helped with carrying the gifts and picking up the wrapping paper. They made the bride-to-be feel like a queen! I walked out with a smile on my face to see such good service (oh, and I took a salted-caramel brownie for the ride home)! Well done Venue 1223! The credit card charges show Downtown Deli as the business owner and not Venue 1223 (probably owned by Downtown Deli). The food was pretty good. They had people serving Hors D'oeuvres which were a charcuterie in a cup, spring rolls, chicken, etc. The main course was either chicken, beef or specialty vegetarian dish which my wife ordered. It was basically a power bowl and looked pretty good with long strips of portabella mushrooms over salad with lots of quinoa and vegetables. My chicken was a bit dry and tough. The inside is a large open area for tables, a DJ and a dance floor. The staff was friendly and did a great job keeping food and people moving.

We saw the "J-Lo and Friends" (Juliette Gordon Lowe) show and it was amazing! The girls had so much fun before the show learning about the puppets and their history from Angela, during the show learning even more about the founder of the Girl Scouts in a fun, interactive environment, and after when the girls got to try out some of Angela's puppets. It was so much fun watching the girls express themselves through the puppets. When asked about their favorite activity during our trip, this was definitely at the top of the list. I am so glad that we discovered this gem of a show and plan to spread the word in my area so that other troops will get the opportunity to participate and watch with Angela and her people. Thanks, Angela! You made our trip THAT much better!

We knew we had to check them out. What sealed the deal for us was that they are not only work friends, but personal friends with the photographer we already booked (Dream Weaver Photos). We knew it would be important to book vendors that worked well together, so a husband and wife team who are friends with the photographer just made sense. We went into the meetings with Jeff and Cindy already with the expectation of hiring them both. While typically day of coordinators don't really help with booking other vendors, Cindy was able to offer her professional insights on hair and make up, florals, and even hotel blocks. She was responsive to every email for a full year before our wedding, and we had a thorough sit down meeting a month before the wedding. The week of, there were many frantic calls and texts to Cindy with things that seemed to be the end of the world to me, the bride, but were minor details in her eyes. At least that's how she made me feel while she calmed me down. The day before the wedding, we had an emergency and most of my family missed our rehearsal. She continued with the rehearsal with who was there, and the day of found those missing family members and talked to them about what they needed to do. Melanie came as her assistant. They were on time and had everything set up in what felt like a few minutes. They kept everything on track and kept all problems away from me. The day was perfect. I kept waiting for something to go wrong, but nothing did! I actually did not even know our guest's trolley drove to the wrong location and only picked up at one of our two hotels until the guests told us the next day. Funny now, but would not have been funny the day of. Thank you to Cindy for keeping that, and who knows what else, away from me all day! I could go on about Cindy but let's get to Jeff. My husband had a very specific entrance he requested Jeff to do, and Jeff couldn't have been better at it. He had our timeline in correct order, made the announcements we asked, and even requests we made the morning of the wedding were fulfilled. He only played music we asked him to, and did not play anything on our do not play list. The dancefloor was PACKED the whole night. Not a single person was in their chair, and hardly anyone left early. Even the grandparents were out of their seats! It was the true party we were looking for and a week later, the guests are still telling us how much fun they had with the music. I am truly impressed by how well our wedding went, thanks to Cindy and Jeff. If you have not hired this duo yet, what are you waiting for?!

We recently relocated to Savannah from Phoenix most recently, but have lived in several cities over the last 10 years including Charlotte and NW Arkansas. So needless to say, we are equally familiar with big city nightlife and small town kicking it. Savannah feels like it fits somewhere between those two. And 201 is a very good representation of the best of Savannah, and specifically Pooler. Now, from what I can gather, they are open Thursday through Saturday night, with Friday night serving as the Hip Hop night and Saturday catering to the Hispanic community (with a mix of traditional Mexican and Latin music - both traditional and contemporary styles). Thursday night featured midget wrestling (didn't go but heard about it) but I believe they rotate themes for Thursday night so you may want to check before you head out. The bar and nightclub is connected to a breakfast restaurant and located right down the street from Sam Sneads sports bar, Crosswinds golf course and the airport. They have ample parking but no valet, so plan accordingly. Also, one key thing to note. Even though tapas is in the name, they don't serve tapas or any food in the club. HOWEVER, they have a food truck that operates outside of the bar that serves traditional American and Mexican fare (think burgers, fries, wings, fish, shrimp, tacos and tortas) that you can take back inside and eat. And fortunately, the food is top notch with the wings, fish and shrimp platters and the tacos leading the list of recommended items that we tried (try the house hot sauce if you get the tacos - bomb dot com). The fried whiting and the onion rings were some of my favorites- they have their fryer game on point! The club itself is nicely appointed with a beautiful illuminated tree in the middle of the VIP section, a large stage, professional lighting and a pretty fantastic sound system. They also have multiple screens but I don't know if they show games or other programming during business hours as they displayed the promoters fliers during my visits. Service is also a highlight here. From the owners, a real cool husband and wife team that we actually met, to the bouncers and the bar staff, everyone was very approachable and service oriented. I like that there was ample security but it didn't affect the vibe. Matter of fact, a couple of the security staff joined the boots on the ground line dance, which is impressive in and of itself. The DJs for both nights was a bit of a mixed bag, as they employ a multiple DJ format, where two (Friday night) or three (Saturday night) DJs take turns on the ones and twos. Both nights featured DJs that were clearly experienced and a couple that were still working out their sets. However, I actually found that a bit refreshing because it produced a really diverse set list that ranged from young to old and new to classic. Those transitions just need a little more work. Saturday nights highlight was the skill of the dancers! There were some Jedi knight level dancers doing the merengue, salsa, Cumbias and a bunch of other secular Latin dances that I couldn't even begin to describe. Evidently they have Latin dance lessons on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7pm - and yep, I am definitely going. There must have been two men that were 75+ years of age (big emphasis on the plus) that absolutely put on a clinic all night which inspired me! Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at how good of a time we had and because it is so conveniently located, it is definitely going to be one of my go to places to dance and have a drink when I'm in the mood for a good night! And shout out to the ownership. I don't think I have seen a more hands on team in a long time and the level of service shows. They worked behind the bar and in the food truck so I ran into them multiple times and how many places can you say that about?
