I do not care to go to the Hampton location. Certain coaches I feel the delivery of instruction is about being in power instead of genuinely teaching and building their students up. I am very pro discipline and teem building being prior military....our kids need discipline! I understand expecting discipline and helping the next generation not be so soft. It's why I signed my kid up for Karate. But with leadership, there comes balance in leading without being so power hungry. Some of the talking down to students is not necessary. Expectations to do their best is necessary but some need to work on their delivery to get the level of respect they feel they deserve. To lead you must know when to fallow.

We stumbled upon this location while browsing. We considered it due to location convenience (intersection of RT 17 and RT 171). After looking into it, we enrolled our child. It was her first time ever attending a spring break camp on her own and let me tell you, boy, did she have a blast. After spring break week, she wanted to enroll in their after school program to do Tae Kwan Do. She loves the instructors and enjoys her fellow mates. Because of her newfound excitement for the Martial Arts, we decided to enroll her in their Summer Break program, shortly after, enrolling her in the after school program. Let me tell you, it is the best decision I have ever made. Not only has my daughter improved in her self confidence, self esteem and in her emotional/physical/mental needs, she has a new passion and devotion to the Martial Arts. She truly enjoys taking these classes. I fell in love with her enthusiasm and with the staff, that we are now permanent customers of WMA. We love the Ko Family and staff, they do a phenomenal job. My child has been attending here about 1 year.

I also enjoyed training with his students. They are all very friendly and open to training at whichever level you wish to train. The gym itself is clean and well maintained and conveniently located. I would highly recommend this place to any military personnel stationed in the area!

I love the fact that the students are a very diverse groups. I'm sad that we had to pull her out of the program. The only critique that I have is that I wish that they were more up front initially about the additional costs that include: testing, belts, boards to be broken, sparring gear, etc... My personal experience there has been one of constant encouragement but I have also been challenged to push myself farther than I felt I could go. At this dojo, the new students train along side the advanced students. Because of this the advance students never forget the basics and the beginners learn to respect themselves and each other because of the examples set before them.
