Won't even look at my cards unless I sell them immediately, and they won't even consider buying cards if they're not fully rare or mythic. Refused to look at any MTG cards at all. The woman there grabbed a giant stack of my collection and said they'd just throw them in the trash. I get that not every card can be winners, but it's not the way you treat someone's cards even if they're only a penny, and I priced them below that.

I guess so - I'm getting old - was in a bar the other day and the bee-bopping 20 something's didn't even know who Chrissie Hynde and Ray Davies were - whaaaaattt?) Anyway, we found the gopher from Caddyshack - sings "I'm All Right". Good condition - only $10. We also found a Barbie vintage camper from 1970 - also in good condition and $10. My nine year old daughter was tickled pink! The guy working here is a hoot. He rides a unicycle around in the store and he knows his retro toys. Lots of fun to talk to on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I couldn't take my eyes of the Laverne and Shirley board game. Always thought Shirley was cute growing up - didn't realize that she had a bowl cut and she was pretty plain jane. Maybe I'm confusing Shirley with Carmine. Now he was something! Although I saw a mug shot of him recently and it was right out of the Nick Nolte and Gary Busey vein - wha'happened to Carmine?? There's so much to look at here, the property itself is stunning and surrounded by amazing nature, the staff are all warm and friendly, and you could spend literally hours here perusing the shelves. There's good old fashioned candy, popcorn, snacks, there's Valle Crucis souvenirs to bring home. It's never felt like a tourist trap, it's always felt very warm, country, and welcoming. The building itself is so old and stunning! The creamy floors and woodsy smells, it's always a treat to come here and there's so much to look at and buy. There's even a Christmas shop upstairs year round, where you can stock up on goodies ahead of time for Christmas. I'd say the value is pretty good, depending on what you're buying. Snacks, drinks, candy are all very affordable, but the souvenir and brand name products of course are higher up in price, which is to be expected. With 2 floors fully stocked of product, it offers a glimpse of how things were in olden times. Pricing on many items is very fare, from what I saw and was able to compare.
