Gotta do some shopping at Westfield Marion, so just drop by to have my lunch before heading back home. Woks Cooking is located near the west end of the shopping complex. Near the entrance of Woolys and right below Coles. It is a small shop that has about 12 tables in all, and can house maybe around 20 pax at any one time. However, due to Mcdonalds' no longer operating besides it, I'm pretty sure I saw customers eating out at the tables where it used to be for Maccas customers.
There's about 10 dishes on the menu right on top of the wall as you walk in. Seems pretty much like South-east Asian food to me. You get the regular Laksa, Mee Goreng, etc.
Today I ordered Singapore noodles. $9.90 a meal, if you get a can drink together it'll cost you $11.90. The noodles came after a 5-8 mins wait. The place was almost packed when I had my lunch though. It was a Sunday afternoon.
The cafe's noodles is different from other Singapore noodles I've tried elsewhere. It's wet. (if you compare to Wokinabox's offering, it's very wet.) The ingredients are the common ones you will find. Carrot, fish cake, beansprouts ,prawns, onions and cabbage. The flavours aren't heavy, neither too salty nor bland, nothing to shout about in terms of taste. I'm very happy with the portion of noodles given though, so it's a plus for me there.
I will come back to try other dishes on the menu in the future. read more
