My salsa friend Hilary and I headed out to Beepy's nightclub located at the Lakeside Leisure Centre…read morein Frimley on Friday for a salsa party organised by Renato of Salsa Esperiensa Heavy traffic on the M3 and A31 meant that we used my trusty sat nav to navigate us there on the back roads of Surrey. The Lakeside complex is huge with the leisure centre as well as hotel and large darts venue where they hold big dart tournaments Renato teaches salsa here regularly here every Monday but this party was a one off event with guest teachers for the bachata tango and advanced salsa classes as well as a performance by Laith Sami and the Diablo dance company There was a big dance floor but with great music all night, it was always full of whirling, twirling couples. Although the hall felt cold when we entered, it heated up fast with the dancing The classes were fun and we learned a lot of new moves in both classes. Though we didn't get home til 1.30am, it was a great night of dancing

Due to 50m pools across the country being categorised as national assets, swimming can sometimes be disrupted by school swimming sessions, but this is a small price to pay for an otherwise fantastic facility.

Places at this school are often in demand due to the higher quality of teaching, and relatively good exam results produced. The staff range from young, invigorating teachers to the more established, traditional figures who have been around much longer and have greater experience. Everyone seems to know each other here, and are very friendly. Although The Pavilion is not quite as flash as other mega gyms like Virgin Active, it has a big gym, with 4 TVs along the wall, playing MTV and sports channels. Most popular are the group fitness classes. At the moment, the busiest ones are body pump and body combat, which I have tried a couple of times and realised that I am no where near as strong as I thought. Mostly I come here to jump into the hot tub and then the steam room for a gossip with friends. If I am feeling particularly active I might go for a swim first in their big pool, but that is not always a given. There are plenty of special offers that they do for memberships, including a frequent three week trial membership for £39.00.
