Prices are high here, ultimately you're paying for convenience, if you have more time, you can pick up 90% of the items here at a fraction of the cost, even just a couple of minutes down the road. This is the case at pretty much every WHSmith Travel location. There is a Nescafe Azera coffee machine here, obviously, you have the usual suspects inside the station, but this coffee machine is especially useful if you're in a hurry ahead of getting a train, and don't have time to wait at Starbucks/Costa etc. The checkout area seemed a little too compact for my liking, it became a little messy rather quickly, given the size of the store, it's almost unacceptable as they could easily improve the area. 4*

Upstairs is the cards and stationery section, with a large choice of greeting cards.

It is like a whole new world of the past when you walk through the narrow doorway. A word of advice, do not take small children in there as they do not like people picking up their goods as most of it is antiques. They've got something for everyone in there, even if you do not like antiques. I saw a bunch of comics from my youth, a few action figures, tonnes of clothes, books and memorabilia scattered all over the place. The Haynes Market is a maze but a fun one. Most of the owners are all pleasingly eccentric, and very knowledgeable of their trade. This shop is deceptively large, it keeps going on into other rooms, and spills out onto the road. Because of the size of this shop, they can get plenty of furniture in here. There are dressers, cabinets, huge mirrors, chandeliers. They also seem to do an interesting selection of iron statues, I saw one that was about 7 foot high. I was particularly interested by the frame dried and preserved butterflies - there was about 50 different types in one cabinet. Crustacean lovers, there was also an exceptionally large preserved crab in one frame. Please, no one get this for me for Christmas.

The ground floor is small and has clothing, but the lower basement level is huge and full of a great selection of books, music, and homewares. Not the best curated charity shop in the area, but it offers something less samey samey.
