Holy cow! This place indulges one's desire to eat like a cow, assuming cows eat until they feel ill as we did. We availed ourselves of the Sunday brunch buffet at Wohnzimmer one lazy afternoon & we weren't disappointed. During our stay we experienced a constantly replenished buffet of piping-hot croissants & rolls, a wide variety of cold cuts and cheeses & spreads, There was a pot of Weißwurst (with proper sweet mustard), eggs cooked to order & bacon. There were also pancakes, American style. In another part of the high-ceilinged dining hall, there was a table set up with appetizer-like treats such as stuffed & breaded mushrooms, crudites, and mini sandwiches. On yet another table was a spread replete with yogurt, muesli, a variety of cereals, and fresh fruit. The whole affair made me feel like Daffy Duck when he found the treasure cave somewhere at Pismo Beach, if you know what I mean.
Wohnzimmer, set up like a hip living room in a large warehouse space, is very inviting. There are small vases of fresh flowers on every table as well as lit candles. It's all very hygge, German style. A complimentary, small carafe of OJ is included in the fairly steep buffet price of approx. 25 euro per person. Coffee drinks, which often take a long while to get to the table, are separate.
Wohnzimmer is tucked away just behind the main drag. Look for the English-language church (yes, really), then make your way 'round to the parking area. Wohnzimmer doesn't have a sign, so just follow the line of people.
