Then he proceeded to ask for court meeting with the opposing attorney and Judge and never give any accounting that my retainer had been diminished. 6 months after the case was settled I received a notice that he wants to take me to small claims court to get $3800. in fees that he now claims I'm delinquent and have not paid. Those are the only notice or statements I have ever received from him or anyone. He never has given or sent a statement of anything that he has done. The meetings that he had were always in the Judges chambers and I wasn't allowed to be there. No transcript of what was said or discussed. My case concerned 16 years of spousal support that I had stopped paying when I retired at 65 Years.

I was a client for three years in two different cities, one of them here in the Bay area. The receptionist/alleged case worker have no basic understanding of mandated reporting. When she was made aware of a situation that fell under her jurisdiction to report, she denied me services instead. I also learned that the disability paperwork I submitted for my hearing with SSA was never turned in prior for review. I had to send it at the last minute myself. Castro is very self-entitled, retaliatory, and lazy. Disrespectful, no customer service skills, and the male Asian attorney (Micheal Yen) Castro referred me to had no authorization for he was not assigned nor knew any of the details to my pending case. He was of no help either, just parroting the lies out of Castro's evil mouth. Both parties did the exact opposite of what their own website states they are legally binding to do. If you want successful advocacy, DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CASE! Find a professional organization that understands that ANY abuse, especially against someone with a pre-existing mental health disorder, is according to the law of California, illegal and if a mandated reporter is made aware of such abuse and makes the choice not to report it, they are liable. I assumed a real attorney- based business would of already known that. The ignorance is deplorable. It's a wonder that they're even official. Castro also lied and claimed that "I didn't have enough evidence" of disability prior to dropping my case. Again, this was after I reported the abuse, submitted a medical /mental health providers letter explaining my housing and mental illness situation. Health Advocates state on their own website, that they "will not pick up a case unless they can win it." Moreover, the Health Advocates branch in Los Angeles, of whom Crystal Horrel was the person I was assigned to in regards to submitting my medical info-to get to the representing attorney- received letters from my therapist while I was in and out of shelters yet still under a doctor's care. This should of all been info that the Social Security Administration already had. Yet, I've been told by both alleged workers under the Health Advocates branch, that "there's not enough evidence I'm disabled." I've been submitting my paperwork for OVER TWO YEARS with their organization so how on earth is it I don't have enough information?! Pretentious, cold-blooded, and hard-hearted. Be weary of five-star ratings because I also know their employees tend to post opposing positive comments under pseudonyms. I also need to clarify that I am a PERSON OF COLOR. That may very well have been an influential factor in why I was not properly represented. I've noticed the positive reviews tend to be from white people here in the Bay Area. Food for thought. Will never work with these morons again and I strongly implore anyone who wants equal and fair treatment to look for an organization that truly embodies the meaning of professionalism and customer service.
