Their homemade chips were definitely the highlight of the meal--they were fresh, crispy, and probably the best part of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else fell short of what we were expecting. The Reuben lacked the bold, savory flavor that makes a great Reuben memorable. I was hoping for something that reminded me of the oversized, flavor-packed deli sandwiches you'd find in New York City, but this just wasn't it. In fact, I honestly think the Reuben at Jason's Deli has more flavor and is a better sandwich overall. Service also left something to be desired. While ordering drinks, we asked what they had available since they weren't listed on the main menu. Instead of simply pointing us in the right direction, the employee gestured toward a small drink menu sitting on the counter and made us feel like we should have already known it was there. As first-time customers, that wasn't a great first impression. Another thing that made the experience uncomfortable was an employee who continually walked around the dining room, clearing tables while closely watching people who were still eating. I understand keeping the restaurant clean, but it felt like we were being rushed, and several times it seemed like he was hovering over diners rather than just checking on the dining area. To top it off, I ended up with heartburn shortly after leaving, which didn't help my overall impression of the meal. I really wanted to love this place because the online videos made it look like a hidden gem with giant, authentic deli sandwiches. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype. They're great--just like the ones at Classico Takeout and Empanadas. They were out of the entree we wanted so we got the salmon. It was pretty good. My biggest disappointment was the pizza. Several people recommended the spicy Thai shrimp pizza. It was just okay. I did not taste any Thai flavor. It was basically a cheese pizza with diced shrimp and a drizzle of buffalo sauce. I didn't care for the crust either. It ended up being a $70 dinner that was just okay. If we go back, it'll probably be for the empanadas or fries. Service was excellent and attentive without being intrusive. Very friendly and personable, which was also refreshing. We were also appreciative that the wine reps and managers stopped by each table briefly to answer any questions and provide further info. Restaurant seating includes indoor and outdoor covered and uncovered spaces. Communal tables and individual seating at tables or counter height options, as well as bar seating overlooking the open kitchen concept. The chefs and staff appeared to be a well oiled machine and produce quite a demonstration while in the trenches. Noise level can be moderately high when restaurant is at capacity with happy diners. Location has free street parking at corner of Frank and Frankfort Avenue, as well as free parking in the lot located behind and to the side of the business. There is also the butcher shop attached to the restaurant, but it was closed during our visit. Looking forward to returning to check this out in the future as well and hopeful to replicate some special dishes at home. Finally, this place smells GREAT! We also ordered the charcuterie plate - which includes chefs picks of cheese and 3 meats. The fries were freshly cut with two dipping sauces, ketchup and a curry mayo. Fries were good but a little floppy and not super crispy but we still enjoyed. The charcuterie plate includes salami, prosciutto, and a liver pate with bacon (the last was not super popular with us). I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.
