I decided to go to UrgentCare of Louisiana one week after I became ill and 4 days of laringitus and just not feeling better. Dr. Anisha Turner is the BEST! She took tests and found I had Strep Throat. Not only did she give me a steroid shot, she prescribed me FIVE other meds that kicked in immediately and by that night I was 50% better and the next day I was 80% back to my healthy self. I was there no more than an hour today with my daughter and we were both examined and out the door with our scripts for Tamiflu. I've had to take my daughter for stitches once and we might have been there forty minutes. They can be pricey if you have lousy insurance like I have, but they don't flood the waiting room with Medicaid patients like you would find at Quick Care or the emergency room. We pay through the nose for our healthcare so we appreciate prompt and comfortable service. I'm sure this is where healthcare is headed with Obamacare. I'm willing to pay more for health services if it means I don't have to wait on a glut of patients that abuse the system. It's a win-win. I pay extra in healthcare so that the lazy can go to the doctor on my dime, yet, I get swift and professional care without dealing with additional headaches.

My family has had this same, similar experience(s) at this same hospital but yet we all still use…read morethe facilities because there isn't much choice.There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the madness. I might add that they have been condensing down, remodeling it seems for years to keep up & compete.The doctor you use on a regular basis cannot come to the ER or make visits to you if you are hospitalized. They now outsource jobs to companies that supply technicians from other places for periods of time to do tests, read or interpret tests because of all the new equipment & possibly lack of skilled technicians in our area. Hospital Floor one has a hospitalist doctor for lets say minor incidents & floor two has another hospitalist doctor for the more major but not critical ICU patients (that's separate). If you are in the ER & need to be moved to a hospital floor, the hospitalist doctor will or should come to the ER to let you know you will be moving if & when a room & bed are available.Once before I could get there for my Mom (she broke her leg), the ER staff started an IV drip line in her arm on the side where she had had breast cancer & her breast & lymph nodes had been removed. No drip was to be administered on that side. No blood pressure or picking up to move her on that side or at least being careful how she was picked up.The staff do not really look at the paperwork especially medicine that the patient takes. It was there as well at the nursing home, assisted living.They all know but they don't. Everything is in the computer so when the power goes out...you guessed..nobody knows nothing nor can they do anything for you.There are only two hospitals in the metropolitan area competing for your business. Oh, I'm sorry I forgot about LSU, the VA Hospital, the acute care facilities.Also, there is a Spine Inst. clinic & now hospital. Dr. Nunley was very smart years ago.I watched him build his practice, his facility & parking & now, it is your one spot shop for all your body parts almost. If you used another body part doctor, got bunged up or botched up, there is probably someone there to fix that for you.There are a lot of doctors but they all had to choose where to practice & how were they going to make a living.Most are good doctors but the nurses are usually the ones you see the most. Some of them are very compassionate & others not so much.We had several male nurses that were great & a few who were not. We had female nurses that were great & a few were not.There are the other staff members that really do all the dirty work for the nurses & doctors that are great.Some you have to warm up to.Finally after awhile I couldn't stay all the time, I hired sitters to stay all day & all night.Patients that are not coherent cannot be left in a room with the door closed & expected to use the little red button for assistance (my parents thought it was for the TV). The staff only look in so often.They get tied up with other patient(s) & I'm sure overwhelmed by the number of patients on their shift. Everything is fast paced. Going to rehab..well that's a whole nuther subject. When you complain about the food, the care or lack of, someone comes to ask questions & it always seemed like I was the only one complaining. The social workers' that you were told would be there to help you when your loved one leaves the hospital to assist you..to find that rehab facility or help you find a home health care company to assist your loved one transitioning home, well that was a bust also. I really don't know what to do. The system seems to be difficult to maneuver & everyone has their hand out & the insurance companies well, their involved also. I am so trying to be very careful how & what I do. I have gone to supplementation, alternative medicine in the hope that nothing happens to need to go to the doctor or hospital(s) or acute care facilities.

We were instructed to do so by our primary physician. Had to basically tell them what to do. Had to ask for them to recheck urine, give IV fluids for dehydration. The doctor ordered a chest XRray for "cough" rather than checking her abdomen. she didn't have a cough!!! Dr Keitz was the rudest doctor I've ever been around. Personality of a wet mop. Absolutely NO bedside manner. Horrible visit today. Made is feel like we were wasting their time.
