This man saved my life on more than one occasion. Hands down the best surgeon you will ever meet. I have loved this man I have hated this man. Seems funny right but I came out of the last year loving this man. He tells you how it is. Straight forward doesn't beat around the bush. I had an elective surgery on 9/1/2023 that left my body crippled. I went to a hospital more than once to be sent home. My daughter being a nurse said mom you need to go to a different hospital. So I went to a different hospital. I can never be more grateful that my scans landed in the hands of Dr Wizman. He was on a flight the next day to save my life. I had Bariatric Sleeve surgery performed by Dr. Paul Wizman. I must say that Dr. Wizman and his entire team are extremely professional, caring, and proficient. They treat you like a friend, not like you're just another patient. I received a lot of pre-surgery information and documentation to help me prepare and understand the procedure as well as attending a group "zoom" gathering conducted by Dr. Wizman himself where information was shared and everyone's questions were answered. Do not use him. After my surgery, my wife was sitting in a room with many other loved ones waiting for the surgeons to tell them the results of the surgery. One by one the other surgeons came. Wizman never showed up. My wife was beside herself with worry. He never came to check on me during my hospital stay. He finally got around to discharging me at 10:00 PM. Several incisions were infected and I had to go to a wound center to be treated. He is incompetent & doesn't care about his patients. read more

I had the same experience a little while ago as Howard R.s wife did. He did not come to check on me after surgery and I also got a serious infection. When I went to visit him at his office he seemed irritated to see me and gave me the choice to go to the ER or be treated in his office. I chose the ER obviously. He said he would call ahead of time and let them know I was coming. Not only DIDN'T he call the ER but he refused to answer their pages from the ER for my admittance. The infection doctors on staff stated that I had come in just in time!!!! I had a very serious infection and a high fever and this "doctor" would NOT return their numerous pages. He did though have other patients in the hospital so we knew he was reachable. I was in the ER for 19 hours. They finally got ahold of his partner who admitted me. Of course this "doctor" did not come to see me or allow me to receive food or dressing changes for 36 hours. Although he was on the floor checking in on his other patients he would not come and see me. I can't tell you how much suffering I went through. The doctors and nurses on the floor finally went to administration to force him to do his job. When he finally did come in (36 hours later) he was rude and ordered my visitors to leave. He finally changed the dressing and left but still did not leave orders for me to have any food or drink. When I got up later after he left the infection from my incision that this so called doctor had just packed leaked all over my body. But he had left orders that the nurses could NOT touch my incision or change it without his permission which of course he ignored their pages for another 4 HOURS while I lay there soaked in blood and puss. I felt so sorry for the nurses on the floor as they were so nice and sympathetic. The topping on the cake is that my incision had to be left open and now I have an ugly thick scar, but this is not the worst of it. I got a hernia at the incision site and had to have hernia surgery. Hello Dr Wizman and your complete staff, I want to personally Thank you all for such an amazing process and outcome. I would like to share my personal experience, so that anyone that has any doubts questions or concerns about you and or your staff may rest at ease. My name is Miguel, I am 54 years of age and was weighing 245 lbs. I have never had any surgery of any kind, besides a colonoscopy and endoscopy, I have been having Acid Reflux for over 25 years and taking omeprazole, also I have high blood pressure. I recently was diagnosed with Gallstones and Sludge causing pain in my abdomen. My primary care physician told me I had to consult a surgeon to remove my Gallbladder and my Research began, I spent countless hours on the internet researching different doctors in Miami and beyond. I came across Dr. Wizman Bariatric Surgery's Website and began reading his credentials and experience, even though Dr. Wizman was approximately 2 hours away from me I decided to have a consultation. We had our 1st zoom consultation. I was Amazed on all aspects of the meeting. I had explained to Dr Wizman all my conditions and my concerns. I have a Gallbladder that has stones and sludge, I have been taking Omeprazole for over 25 years, I am Overweight at 5' 10' weighing 245 lbs. After a lengthy conversation and asking Dr Wizman if he can help me with all these problems that I have. I explained that I have a hiatal hernia causing the acid reflux, I have stones and sludge in the gallbladder and causing pain and I am overweight and causing high blood pressure. To my amaze, Dr Wizman told me he can do not one but THREE Surgeries the same day. He said that he can remove the Gallbladder, he can perform a Gastric Sleeve Surgery and he can also repair the Hiatal Hernia. I was in Aww, I thought, if this is true I wont have any more pain in my abdomen, I will eventually be able to stop taking omeprazole and blood pressure medication. He then told me that it is on one condition, he wanted me to make sure that I am healthy enough and speak to me primary care physician, I did not only speak to my primary care physician, I also went and spoke to my Gastroenterologist, they both agreed and after all the labs and check outs, they both told me that the 3 surgeries would be extremely beneficial to me. The rest is to be told. I had my surgery on December 16th 2022 it has been approximately 6 weeks now. I do not have anymore abdomen pain, I am currently weighing 213 pounds and my Primary has cut my blood pressure medication and Omeprazole dozes in half, I feel Amazing and Today I am starting to work out. Dr Wizman is a "WIZ". I was in surgery approximately 2 hours on Friday, two hours after surgery I was walking, on the very next Monday I went into work for two hours for our annual employee Christmas lunch, even though I was not able to eat any food, I felt great being around all my co-workers and employees, I returned to work two days later on Wednesday and have never looked back. My husband and I got a phone call set up with Dr. Wizman. We were told that the dial-in info would be provided prior to the call which was at 6:00 a couple evenings later. At 5:55 we called the office because we still had no dial-in info. Dr Wizman answered our call and got us the info. Dr. Wizman seemed knowledgeable and experienced. A second call was set up with the Dr and us individually. We were told it would be a Zoom call and that the dial-in, time, etc would be provided. When that info came it showed a time for the call anywhere between 11-4. We called thinking surely they wouldn't expect anyone to sit on a Zoom call for 5 hours, waiting on the Dr to join! They confirmed they did expect that! We then received a second email, and also noticed that the Patient Portal showed the Zoom had been updated to 9am. Wonderful! We sat on the Zoom for 15. No one showed. We called the office and they said the 9am was a mistake it was 11-4! DISORGANIZED. CHAOTIC. NOT THE DR FOR US. read more

About 6 months ago I got a revision from my gastric sleeve in which worked n lost a little over 100lb. I was my fault because over time I regained half of it back so I decided to get the gastric bypass instead. After my surgery with wizman I lost 40lb during my recovery but that's mostly due to the pain n fear of eating. Now that I'm recovered I'm 5 months in and I don't get full, I can eat my normal portion prior to surgery, It's extremely rare that I throw up even during my recovery. Nothing has changed . Trying to get ahold of someone in his office or wizman himself is like trying to get ahold of the president. The one time I did speak to him around then end of my recovery his response was "then stop eating" . Once they are paid I wouldn't count on much help so I would recommend another doctor for this procedure. Dr. Wizman Did my Surgery Friday July 1st and he is one of the most honest genuine caring doctors I have ever met. We have been working on completing my surgery since the end of May 2016 and we finally did it Doc! I have told him through this process I will be a poster child for Bariatrix Florida as we have been through alot together and we made it happen! His bedside manner just makes you want to smile. Even when my family finally met him they were like WOW. Coral Springs Medical Staff was spectacular, so caring, concerned, and available 24/7! Wizman your Da Man!
