Parking tickets, paid garage parking if you don't have time to take a bus across town to get to the campus and hike to class. When I was attending, the construction was so bad on the roads I popped a tire on a rock and was stranded for 4 hours. Professors are absolutely terrible. They are condescending and rude. The course work is absolutely ridiculous across majors, a lot of professors don't clearly define projects but then grade you as if they did. Healthcare Administration program professors mock students and spread misinformation, try to make students fearful of their future careers and financial courses are useless to the job, an old man talking about his "knowledge" about healthcare finances. Required reading: the book he wrote. Project management course, I worked on a commercial for the school, professor took off points because she didn't like the commercial and said it wasn't "relevant" to healthcare administration because I didn't include stock images of an administrative job. I had to call professors out regularly for their unethical and insufficient grading. All of this during my two years there, and I had at least two professors openly mock me as if I was dumb. The last straw was them telling me to work 40 hour weeks in residency that I had to secure from their "approved list" with no pay or promise of a job in the end. Changed my major the next week. One professor told me I would be "working at McDonald's" if I changed my major and another mocked a response I had to the lesson in a sarcastic tone both in front of the class. I felt totally embarrassed and absolutely alone, overworked and overwhelmed while attending this school. I wish I could get my money and time back from this university, but in the very least have my degree that I worked so hard for. One psychology History & Theory course in particular held me back from graduating because professor gave over 100 assignments during the semester and took off points because she didn't agree with your opinions, on opinion based assignments. Begged her and asked what I could do to bring my grade up multiple times during the semester and she refused consistently and failed me in the end. Tail end of COVID. $1000 to retake the course. I spent more time trying explain myself to these professors than I ever should have as a college student, it's their job to grade properly and set students up for success, instead they use their position to bully students. They withheld my degree over this one class and the professor has been poorly reviewed for years! Over 120 credit hours earned and thousands of dollars, please send me my diploma!

It often falls under the category of "the new Ivy League". I have been on campus for everything from protests, the annual Longhorn run, college & alumni-affiliated events, strolling the campus, and a few other things. It has always been a wonderful experience. Faculty, staff, and students alike all boasting their Longhorn pride. Hook 'Em Horns!!! What an extraordinarily beautiful campus for strolling from the lush greens to incredible architecture that's also stood the test of time. Sculptures and artwork adorn the campus throughout, there's always something new to see. Sunday strolls around the campus grounds are one of my favorite things to do.

There are a lot of class options (categorized by what painting you'll be doing) so there's good variety. We chose a very pretty painting which we did not have the foresight to realize would be pretty difficult to paint. Check-in was smooth and the studio is intimate; they also have all materials setup for you ahead of time including aprons. This is also a BYOB spot and many people had wine with them if that's the kind of twist you're looking for. Our instructor was very good during our class. She was genuinely passionate and patient with everyone, doing multiple stops and checks and reassuring us along the way that everything would be fine. This was more of an intermediate level painting that took a bit of skill and finesse so the patient attitude and slow pace was helpful in getting out paintings as close to the original as possible. The only downside to that was the activity ran well over the time we had scheduled for it (2 hours turned into 3-3.5 hours), which forced us to push back a dinner reservation we had made. That's not really a drawback if you have the time and want it to be perfect but for those maybe looking to do something after your painting then it's good to be aware of that. At the end of the event we were genuinely impressed by how well our paintings came out. The attention to detail and instruction make it so that anyone regardless of skill level can come in and put together a painting that would look good on the front of a fridge. They have many different classes and paintings to choose from and for the price it absolutely feels worth it to come back, which we will be doing soon.

Our family adores Figment. It's unlike anywhere else we've been…read more They have SO many sensory activities for our 2 year old. A water bin, play dough, paint, rice bin. They have an insane selection of toys. Cars, musical instruments, trucks, dolls, pretend food. They have an outside area with a beautiful playhouse, chalk, the coolest trampoline I've ever seen, and giant blocks. The endless activities aren't the only thing that sets figment apart. The teachers there are so kind and happily play with the kiddos. Lastly, and probably my favorite part of this place, there's so many animals! They've got cats, goats, a guinea pig, a bunny, a tortoise (I think lol), and birds. My son always puts up a fight to leave! Figment is our favorite place to go when we don't know what to do. I do wish they had memberships available. We'd sign up in a heartbeat.

The best part is the different animals. There are three miniature goats that are very gentle with the children and very mischievous too. There is also Lizzo the lizard, a bunny, some hamsters, chickens, and Origami the cat. The staff is phenomenal and very encouraging and loving with the children. There are different classes for different age groups and there is an option to have an art teacher come to your home and do some activities with your child. I recommend this to anyone who has a child that is looking for fun, safe, educational, and exciting activities!
